I don't so much go for the Joan look in the latest season, 1964, as she has stagnated. Peggy and Betty have updated their looks, Trudy Campbell and Megan are leading the fashion charge in the mid 1960s, and the beatnik aesthetic was introduced by Peggy's friend, Joyce, and the reintroduction of Mitch.
