April, I'm a size 2 in Kuts and you are smaller than me, you will need the size 0. I have white denim from Joe's jeans (Petite provocateur I picked up from Zappos a few years back) and a BF style from Eddie Bauer (a store I would not have thought about but stumbled on them wandering the malls early this season).

I have white Jag jeans in straight and bootcut. The fabric is super thick and legs are big enough for my fat thighs. Mine are Petites but of course they make regular size. I bought the straights at Nordstrom and the bootcut off Zappos. The bootcuts are pull-ups which I find weird but I wanted to try. As usual, they are a little too loose at the top on me.

You are right, I only see Kut Farrah boot cuts in size 2 and up. Too bad because that was going to be my recommendation.

There are white boyfriend-style jeans in size 0 on Kut website but it sounds like you are looking for a different type of fit.

Angie -- cannot find the Kuts in a 0, but will keep looking.

Zap -- I ordered the bootcut AE white jeans (on sale!) and went up a size; I'll post when they arrive.

Sarah -- the J Crew skinnies-that-are-really-straights are intriguing to me, but are you sure sizing up is unnecessary? My typical jean size is a 24, and all they have left is 24 and 29. Normally in a white jean I would go up to a 25 but if you promise me they're not really skinny skinny, I might give these a try.

I have JCrew bootcuts and high-rise skinnies - however, their high-rise skinnies (which are actually straights) stretched out more than the bootcuts, so I sized up when I shouldn't have. And had them altered (thanks to your motivational post). But the denim is nice and thick, and not to optic white (which I personally don't like).

American Eagle. Their denim is of a substantial weight, comes in 4 different lengths and is very affordable to boot. The rises are not as low as they look in the stock photos. Give them a shot. I keep on talking about them jeje... Hopefully they catch an audience like the Editors.

Will do, Angie -- thanks for the tip!

How does Kut run in sizing? So far, the smallest I can find in that brand is a 2, which will only work if they run quite small.

Try KUT from the Kloth. That's what I bought this year and they were better than the premium denim brands I tried on.

I am a huge fan of white denim in the summer but am having trouble finding the right pair of jeans.

What I have, and what's wrong with each:

AT modern fit: the rise is too low

A pair of Express wide-leg trouser-style hand-me-downs: nice, thick denim, but hemmed for flats and too full-legged to look great with flats.

Talbots straight leg: got yellowed in the wash, not quite PPL.

I want thick, substantial denim in a straight leg or bootcut. No skinnies. Some stretch would be nice.

A lot of white jeans are on sale right now -- anyone have a recommendation?
