Especially because&nbsp;that is where my husband and I were married. We stayed at Planter's Inn and were married in the courtyard. I do recommend their restaurant, Peninsula Grill. </p> <p>I echo Carter on Market Pavilion. It's a great hotel. I just booked Charleston Place for April. Hubster will be golfing and I will be touring the Festival of Homes &amp; Gardens.&nbsp;As I searched&nbsp;for places to stay I was surprised to find that many places are already booked solid for this time slot. I originally thought I wanted a charming historical boutique hotel&nbsp;but&nbsp;most of what I found had brightly painted rooms and furniture that did not look comfortable. And for 8 nights sleeping and resting in a red, bright blue or lime green room just did not seem the relaxing vacation I want. Didn't like the breakfast area or the breakfast. It's been years since I've been to Charleston, but I recently researched hotels there for a possible upcoming anniversary trip. Although we ended up deciding on Quebec City, I bookmarked this boutique hotel for future reference. It's definitely a splurge, but the reviews all seem glowing. I like that it offers cooking classes, both to the public and guests. I can't get the link to paste for some reason, but it's called Zero George Street.</p> <p>Happy Planning! Bicycle taxis are everywhere if you get loaded down with packages. The guest rooms are great. The staff is friendly.
