I've never been to Japan, but lived in Houston for five years, and I never wore any kind of raincoat in summer. It's extremely hot and humid, with highs in the mid- to high-30s deg. C. Unless air conditioning is powerful, I think bring along a jacket or trench would still be too much. Should I just stick to a light sweater and wrap for the plane? </p>
