Thomas Pink makes nice shirts. DH is very slim and he also likes Jos. A Bank for traditional shirts. They make a tailored fit that's slimmer and not as boxy.

He must be rubbing elbows with a really rough crowd! Would it be at all possible for him to wear a sports coat fairly regularly so the elbows of his shirts aren't getting so worn? I also wonder if wearing a long sleeved undershirt would help.

My boyfriend is a lawyer and has many Brooks Brothers shirts, and doesn't have a problem with them. So strange! Has he tried the non-iron, or the traditional shirts? My boyfriend generally wears the non-iron.

If he is tall and slim I would recommend Thomas Pink and Hugo Boss. He could also go to a department store like Nordstrom or Saks and see what he likes. My boyfriend loves a lot of the Zegna styles, but he is too broad across the shoulders for those, so maybe that would be a good option for your son.

Lands End makes good quality shirts for the money, and for some of the styles it is possible to specify practically every measurement. Hugo Boss makes beautiful shirts for tall and slim blokes. I have had good luck with Armani Exchange as well for my husband, but these tend to be trendier, so possibly not conservative enough.

Ok, well brother said he gets his lots of different places, but he said Thomas Pink's shirts are pretty good. It depends on what style your son likes. I know Thomas Pink is not cheap. Just FYI my brother is over 6'3" and fairly slim (although with the advent of kids he eats a lot more grilled cheese than he used to!) and works in investing/finance.

This is interesting! My dad has been buying Brooks Brothers shirts for years and they have worn very well. He may wear a different style, though, as he does not have to dress as formally as a tax attorney. (YAY TAX LAW - not as boring as people think!)

I'm asking my brother if he has any recommendations and will get back to this.

My husband really likes Ben Sherman shirts. He also has a few Hugo Boss that he picked up at Nordstrom Rack and they are great quality.
He has ONE Zachary Prell shirt. A Christmas splurge if you will. I have threatened him so many times that he better not rip, stain, or lose that shirt. I think I'd have a heart attack. Needless to say, it is superior quality but not cheap at ALL.

That's truly disappointing -- I know those BB shirts are not cheap. You could try Land's End dress shirts in Tall, Tailored Fit. http://www.landsend.com/ix/men.....#038;tab=1
They have a pretty much unlimited guarantee on their merchandise.

For a less expensive shirt, which aren't as nice as BB but will be much cheaper to replace if they wear out, try Kohl's. I got my husband several shirts during one of their big sales and they look really nice. He doesn't wear a shirt and tie every day but they've been washed in the washing machine several time and still look new. Maybe he can save the more expensive shirts for days with big meetings or more special occasions and wear less expensive ones on normal days.

My son recently starting working as a tax lawyer. Between Xmas and B-day I bought him 5 or 6 Brooks Brothers dress shirts that fit very nicely (he is tall, thin and has very long arms so hard to find shirts that fit). However...(ha ha isn't there always a however) they are not wearing well at all and they are expensive. The prob. is the elbows wear out very quickly and BB is always willing to replace them but he doesn't have the time to keep going in there plus he has to wear dress shirt/tie every day. He has his shirts laundered on the store recommendation and is still having the elbows wear out in 2-3 months. On a side note he has both a friend and a co-worker who have also experienced this prob. Do any of you have any recommendations/experience with good quality dress shirts you can recommend? Thank you so much.
