Thank you to everyone who gave suggestions! I just ordered the insoles that Diana posted but from Zappos where I get free 1-day shipping. I'm excited to try them out soon!

I have superfeet insoles too: a pair for heels and a pair for flats. They are amazing. I used the pair for flats for exactly the purpose you propose. I had a pair of completely unsupported flats that were uncomfortable and I wanted some arch support. Also, for me, the pair for flats has the added benefit of lifting up my heel a bit so that flats that would normally cut in are made perfectly comfortable. They are fantastic.

I use these 3/4 length superfeet black insoles. The different colors correspond to different levels of support, with black being the "lowest". I have very flat, low-volume feet, but they don't like to be forced into a high arch so the lower support ones work best for me. As a bonus, they are the easiest of all the superfeet to fit into regular shoes.

I've been wanting to try the Orthaheel by Vionic insoles - Zappos carries them. I have Vionic flip-flops and really like the support.

I wear flats like this and use the Superset insoles. The half sole works really well.

I wore my new lace-up flats yesterday for the first time and discovered that I really would prefer more support, although I've long been a diehard flats-over-heels person. Can anyone suggest an OTC orthotic insole that works for very flat shoes?

I know they usually don't work well for flats, but I'm hoping the laces will help hold my (low-volume) foot in. I've heard good things about Superfeet but no direct experiences; my go-to for boots is the Dr. Scholl's for Her orthotic insole.
