I don't know if it's your style at all, but I have this WCM Adjustable Toggle Belt that I wear at my low hip and it's QUITE adjustable. Extrapolating from my waist measurements, I think the S could fit as small as a 20" waist.

Because of the design, there's no excess overhang in the front.

It's a little spendy at $58 (full price) but it seems fairly well made to me. Two notes if you're interested:

* the buckle dips into that V shape due to the way they have it styled...I *am* wearing it that way, but it will also sit in line with the belt when made tighter

* I bought mine at a B&M Nordstrom and it's black patent all the way around -- I'm not sure what's going on with that leopard-y back view but you may want to check with a CS rep if ordering online

http://tinyurl.com/WCM-AdjustableBelt

FYI, not sure what your other measurements are, but the Alterations Needed site + forum focuses exclusively on petite sizing issues -- mostly on the short + superslim side. (the 4'11/000 type of thing).

Even if you just wear a smaller shoe/belt/bra you can pick up advice on which brands and styles are likely to work.

I have similar belt challenges with a 23.5 inch waist. ALL my belts are doctored. I either do the trick Louise shows (thanks Louise), or I take the belts to the cobbler for alteration. An adjustable belt works well too. Occasionally elastic does the trick too.

Sometimes I buy in the kids and teens department, but that rules out anything sophisticated. Funnily enough, the more expensive you go, the smaller the belt.

You could also wear your belt more hip slung. I don't do that unless I'm wearing my jodhpur jeans, but you might like that look.

Could you try Angie's belt shortening trick? http://youlookfab.com/2008/09/.....ing-trick/ x

My sister has the same issues. She has a tiny waist big bigger hips so belted waist looks just don't look the best for her.
One option is to try stretchy belts and have additional holes put in. A cobbler or even the department store may be able to shorten the belt as well.
Good luck!

Hi all,

Hoping for some wisdom- has anyone managed to find a belt that fits a slim waist? Mt natural waist is 22.5 inches and all belts are too big for me. I wanted this one http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults

but the small is 29.5 inches so I think it will be quite big.
