Thanks so much for your feedback! The reviews on the pants seem to be mixed: I am wondering if the problem lies in the cheap fabric as well as the actual fit. It just doesn't drape very well, which is why they might look tapered in the photo (they aren't). The fabric is thin, so I feel a bit self-conscious about how the pants fit closely in the butt and thigh, although they're a bit too large in the waist area. They definitely aren't quality enough to bother having tailored. I am shopping for new gray trousers, since the others I posted turned out to be too large. Maybe I can find the *perfect* pair and retire both of my current pairs.

I wondered a bit about the sizing of the top when I put it on: It seemed as though it might be a bit wide in the shoulders, as a couple of you noted. Another remnant of my days of buying and wearing clothing too large. And it's not a petite, so the sleeves are longer than they were intended to be, I'm sure!

Thanks for all the compliments on my hair, glasses, and accessories! I truly think I'll belt tops frequently from now on. If it weren't for YLF, I'd never have thought of it or have had the courage to try it. Nicole, I'll have to try the headband look with my hair. I like the way headbands look, but I have trouble finding ones that are just the right tightness: Either they slide off too easily, or they squeeze my temples and give me a headache!

I love this outfit. The belt really accentuates your tiny waist. The pants are fine. Sometimes we stand in an awkward position so we get funny gathers in some spots. I honestly hadn't noticed anything wrong with the pants. I look at the photo first, then go back and read the entry, then go back and look at the photo again. This gives me more objectivity for some reason. So when I first looked at the photo--I thought you looked smashing!

I love your hair when you style it like that--and your glasses are very funkalicious! Have you ever tried a headband with your hair like that? A friend of mine has a shirt flippy do and she often wears funky headbands and they look really cute. She side sweeps her bangs under the headband.

From one red lover to another - I love the shirt. Something about the proportions in the picture seem a bit out of alignment to me. I am not an expert so can't articulate exactly what or why. Is the belt too low? The shirt too long? Or maybe needing more heel? Also, the pants in the side view seem to pouch a bit around the thigh/crotch so I can see how that might feel ill fitting if it wasn't just a factor of how you were standing. Sorry, I can be more specific. Love you trying out a variety of accessories - way to go!

You are adorable. I love your hair, glasses and style. The shirt looks good and I like the belt. I can tell it is your favorite color bcause you have painted your wall the same color. I also like your new accessories.
I do think the pants seem tapered to the ankle and a bit baggy in the thigh. Do you think so? They are not bad by any means, I just think you can do better.

Becky,
that belt makes your waist look so tiny, Looks good with the shirt too. Don't know the answer to whether crinkle shirts are outdated - like you I live in a small town.
However, I think I can see your concerns about the pants. I agree they look better in the front-on picture - but you don't look wider. Hopefully it is just the way you were standing, as Dani suggested.

you are so cute, becky! love the colors on you. the pants aren't that bad; however, they do look a little baggy through the thigh. also, the shirt seems to be a bit big as well, particularly in the shoulder. love love love the accessories though

Becky, that shirt color is so pretty on you! I don't think the pants look bad. It may just be the way you're standing in the first pose. I like the look of the shirt with the belt! I don't think the shirt is dated at all. You look super and, as always, I love your flippy hair!

Becky, you look great! The shirt-color, shape, belt is incredible on you! It's always a treat when you post an outfit since you don't do it very often.

The pants do not look ill fitting to me, they are perfectly fine (with flats).

Love the new accessories too!

Here's an outfit which I've worn for several fall/winter seasons:
http://i285.photobucket.com/al...../002-1.jpg

As I look at the picture, the pants seem to be rather ill-fitting. They are also shorter than PPL with these shoes (which have a higher heel than most of my flats). They looked better in the straight-on picture: http://i285.photobucket.com/al.....oo/001.jpg , though I look wider in that pose!

I also wonder about the top: it is one of those crinkle ones that you twist to dry so it keeps its texture. It reminds me a bit of the old broomstick skirts, so does that make it dated?

This is the first time I've worn the top belted (YLF inspiration!), and it has vastly improved it, IMO. I also accessorized with a new watch and necklace I got for free (!) for having a jewelry party in my home.

*Sigh* I wonder if I'll be naked by the time I finish going through all my fall/winter clothes! :-)

CRS and all other comments welcome. Thanks for your help!
