It has crochet detail but is mostly solid and made of rayon. I also wear a hat, lots of sunscreen, and try to sit under a beach umbrella as much as possible. I reapply sunscreen every time I get out of the water. I have a couple swim shirts too, one is short sleeved and one long. Originally designed for surfers.
