23% of the world’s cotton, from their website. Not organic, but trying to be fairer/more sustainable in other ways.
I have noticed the tags here in NZ too.
I suppose I get a bit influenced by these things, some of my items also have “recycled polyester” but again I am not sure how much better that is. I am still trying to limit purchases as my way of being more sustainable. The whole thing is difficult as obviously with weight changes etc then people need to buy some things or nothing much will fit!

I don’t know anything about BCI…? We’re trying to be green at the bakery, but these programs can be really weird (and lame). The basic health and safety things can be weird. A thing that’s helpful can also hurt you half the time… like unplugging appliances after every use.

I have noticed recently that in addition to recycled polyester, I am seeing BCI on the tags at Target. I know that the Better Cotton Initiative is controversial and has been accused of "greenwashing". I also feel like it's a step in the right direction for one of my favorite retailers, and that makes me happy. You can find BCI hang tags on the items at Target, so they are easy to identify. Many of my new items have BCI cotton.
