I have been using Timeless Vitamin C with ferulic acid and love it. I has helped with my discoloration. It is a lot less cost wise. They make it in small batches because Vitamin c goes bad quickly but 1 oz. will last 3 months if I use up AM and PM.

Redness on the skin no way! This product never gave me redness or any other side effects. The smell could be better, but it's not horrible. It provides so much antioxidant protection. My skin looks a whole lot better after just a week of use. I try to gather more information of the company and skincueticals and the their team of dermatologists, started using this serum took my skin color to another level. Read more about the skinceuticals c e ferulic reviews here

If you have sensitive skin be sure to use products that are colorless and odorless these are good but gentle on the skin. Speaking of Vitamin C Serum, you
might want to try the Vitamin C Serum that I discovered, the Triple
Action Vitamin C Serum by VoilaVe. You can look it up on Amazon. This
product worked perfectly! It went on very easily and has no
fragrance, which is great. After a few days of using it in the
morning and evening, I could already see a difference. My skin was
smoother, clearer, and I had less fine lines around my eyes. Also, I
use moisturizer at night, but during the day I didn't need to use
any, because this product really sinks in and does a wonderful job
moisturizing. All in all, I thought this serum was a bargain,
considering all of the benefits it has. Well worth the purchase!

I have seen lower-cost options for this type of vitamin C serum - and of course, I found these *after* I ordered the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic.

One such item I found is Mad Hippie CE Ferulic Serum:

http://www.madhippie.com/shop/vitamin-c-serum/

I haven't tried it yet though, so am not sure if it's quite the same as the SkinCeuticals stuff.

Meanwhile, at the same time I bought the CE Ferulic stuff, I also purchased a *really good* sunscreen from SkinCeuticals - the Physical Fusion sunscreen:

http://www.skinceuticals.com/_.....spf-50.htm

Guess what? It's a *tinted* sunscreen - and makes skin look rather flawless, somehow. This might also be one of the reasons that I am not needing to use a whole bunch of "full coverage" foundation - because there is some coverage in this sunscreen as well.

All of that said - my skin looks a whole lot better after just a week or so of the new SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic serum in the morning. Even before properly waking up, I can *see* that my skin looks a lot better - first thing in the morning, before any cleanser, lotion, serum, makeup or what have you.

The redness that I have been battling has been reduced by a whole lot, and I'm able to just dot some foundation on, and somehow end up with nice-looking skin, that isn't so plagued with redness.

Very, very happy with SkinCeuticals.

Count me interested! I've got full on rosecea (with terrible pustules right around me period). I've tried lots of things, but only meds helped, and after 2 years they wrecked my gut. I've been off the meds, 'cause the side effects were worse then the bad face. Will give this product a try. Hope I can find it at the local pharmacy...or maybe my aesthetician can source it out for me.

Thanks everyone After this batch of Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is done, I *may* try a lower cost option. The stuff is pretty pricey, but like I said - so far, I'm quite happy with it. I've *never* spent that kind of money on any skincare product before. Then again, one product that works well is worth a lot more if it means ditching umpteen other products that don't help so much.

Meanwhile, I don't know what it is about this CE Ferulic stuff, but it's doing 'something' - and I can't quite put my finger on it - does that make sense? I see less redness and a glowing, healthy-looking complexion. From reading reviews all over the place, I've noticed that this product is "healing" - so perhaps it's helping to sort of 'fix' sun damage? Not really sure, to be honest. All in all - it's nice to see less redness, and to be able to use less makeup.

YAY !! I am soooo happy that this is working for you. I have also used Skinceuticals and then switched to the following "generic" version. I did research on it to be sure that it was safe and I really, really like it so I have switched over. Mine also has Vitamin C. Right now it is $75 for 2 ounces.

I got the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic from a site called Dermstore - but I think you can get it from a lot of places, including the Skinceuticals site. Warning - it's expensive! It smells weird too (at first). Thing is? I think it's working to reduce my redness.

I'm not sure I have rosacea. I do know I've been battling redness, and I've found that the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic seems to be helping a lot.

Skinceuticals site:

http://www.skinceuticals.com/_.....erulic.htm

I bought a kit from Dermstore, with the CE Ferulic and something called a Redness Neutralizer - the kit seemed a good price (I'd done the math and the price for this kit was less than buying the two separately, and furthermore - I could "try" the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic stuff in a smaller sized bottle, just to see if I liked it).

http://www.dermstore.com/produ....._41370.htm

The Redness neutralizer cream is nice, but don't know (yet) if it really reduces redness? I stopped using it in the morning and have stuck with the CE Ferulic stuff every single morning and I think it's the serum that is helping a lot more than the redness neutralizer cream.***Note: the redness neutralizer cream might be very good, it's just that I stopped using it in the morning because it didn't seem to work well with sunscreen and makeup. I will keep using it and see if it's helpful - just not a good thing for me in the morning.

....

Additional:

MNSara - my DH has rosacea - he tried some cream that the doctor
recommended, and it made the situation much worse. Now granted, it might
be one of those things where sometimes there is a bit of "ugly" or what
have you before the product works, but DH hated the cream that the
doctor prescribed (metro something - triggered the worst flare-up he'd
ever had).

Thanks to Angie - I heard about CeraVe (reasonably priced drugstore
products), and bought the two kinds of cleanser (one for oily skin and
one 'hydrating' forumula). For DH? That CeraVe stuff has worked
beautifully - the oily skin variety didn't work as well - you want the
CeraVe Hydrating cleanser. The bumps are 100% gone, the redness is
reduced quite a bit. DH hasn't tried my Skinceuticals CE Ferulic serum
yet. I said I'd try it first, since his skin seems to be even more
reactive than mine.

Cleanser:

http://www.cerave.com/our-prod.....g-cleanser

Regular moisturizing lotion:

http://www.cerave.com/our-prod.....ing-lotion

These two products meant no bumps, no redness and no issues for DH.
In fact,we were traveling in May, and DH was not in the mood to go
looking through the luggage for the CeraVe stuff and washed his face with hotel soap - he got a rosacea flare-up, bumps and all.

The CeraVe will take a good two weeks to help clear things up. I don't know if
it clears it up, or if it's just that it's a non-irritating product. In any case, just the hydrating cleanser and standard moisturizing lotion have worked beautifully for him. It's like the rosacea is almost gone - but as soon as he uses something like hotel soap - forget it - bumps, redness and so on.

Just for the record, I tried CeraVe AM and PM lotions too, and the PM lotion is the bomb - highly, highly recommend this.

http://www.cerave.com/our-prod.....-lotion-pm

No relationship to redness or rosacea - just the very best night time
moisturizer I've ever tried. DH doesn't use it (yet!), but I love it.

......

Sorry for the novel-length reply!

Also, I have one of those sunburnt-a-long-time-ago vees! It mostly fades away in the winter, but sun reactivates it right away :-( I never thought it had a connection to rosacea, but might need to ask doctor. . .

Thanks!

Kind of off topic, but I get so many great ideas from other YLF'ers and Angie too, that I thought I'd speak up about a skin care item that is really working for me.

I've been battling sensitive skin and redness. Figured I might have rosacea, but have never been diagnosed with it, and I didn't get any of the bumps (papules, I think they're called). Even so, I was beginning to think that I had a certain subtype of rosacea that leads to a lot of redness, but not necessarily the bumps that can sometimes happen with rosacea.

Meanwhile, a lot of skincare products would make my face even redder, and more irritated. I quickly dialed back to the simplest stuff - and things like Pond's Cold Cream for removing makeup and CeraVe moisturizing cream went a long, long way in terms of soothing and moisturizing. The CeraVe cleanser, regular moisturizer and their AM or PM moisturizers are *excellent*.

That said - sometime in the last week or so, I decided to just go ahead and try SkinCeuticals brand CE Ferulic serum. I remember Angie mentioning it a long time ago (not as a blog post, but a mention in response to a blog post or forum post - something like that).

You know what? I've had the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic stuff for one week, and I can see a noticeable difference already - I was having to use 'full coverage' foundation to deal with the redness and all kinds of concealers and primers and so forth. This is something that has been bothering me a lot in the past couple of years.

Guess what? The redness is going away *already*. I'm totally shocked.

I also had a bit of redness on my chest - about two or three years ago, I went out for a walk for a good hour or two (v-neck fitness type tee shirt), came back with a red sunburn looking thing on my chest - wasn't too worried, figured it would go away - but it never did. Freaked me out that my 'sunburn' didn't go away.

So, this past week - I've been putting just a few drops of this Skinceuticals CE Ferulic stuff on my face in the morning and some on my chest as well, and ...I'm thrilled that the redness seems to be diminishing. I'm also applying Skinceuticals UV Fusion SPF50 after the serum.

Colour me completely impressed! I've used all kinds of various sunscreens and tried out all kinds of facial serums/creams or what have you, to no avail. Usually, the fancy creams would make my face even redder and more irritated.

In just one week, since starting the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic stuff, I am not using primer before makeup, and now I can just dot a wee bit of foundation here and there, and my skin is looking much more even-toned and even a bit "glow-y."

The serum is expensive (and smells weird, imo), but after trying umpteen billion different products to deal with my "rosacea" or "sun damage" or whatever it was - it turns out that the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is fixing it.

The redness on my chest (decolletage) is going away, and the facial redness is also substantially reduced. From the reviews I've read, it takes a good few weeks to notice the full effects of the CE Ferulic - if it's this good already, then in a couple of more weeks, it's going to be excellent!

No, I don't work for the company - like I said, I've gotten such great ideas from all kinds of YLF posts, that I thought I'd at least mention that I finally found something that seems to be working to reduce redness.

I was just about to order another bit of this primer that I've liked, and was thinking I needed to go into Sephora or Nordstrom for some help with a serious foundation to help with the redness, and now I feel like I won't need to do that after all. I might even be able to become one of those people who just use tinted moisturizer instead of foundation makeup

Just throwing this out there in case in helps anyone else.
