I like #2 better in both pictures. The #1 is more shapeless in my opinion and I know I would tire of the self tie tie thing. Those new trousers are amazing on you and I like the looseness of the cut.

I prefer #2 too, first because if you want it to be a pseudo-topper, this is more jackety; and second, because I like the perkier bow that results from the tie rather than the custom ties of #1 (too long, too limp, lacks versatility). As for not knowing what it's made of, I'd just stick with the delicates cycle of the laundry if in doubt.

I do love the softer fabric of the first, but it's not a contest.

I can totally see the first one with a dress...but I don't think that it would look as good with skirts. I don't think that I like it with wide legged pants, but I think a narrower pant would look good. The second shirt definitely pass for a makeshift jacket. It is really wonderful. I think that it would just be more versatile.

Thanks, everybody! Wow, it's a tie between the two. How interesting. They really do have different vibes.

I own a Levi's denim shirt that is similar in cut and only slightly heavier in weight than the Trouvé shirt, but it is a stiffer denim fabric, and a darker, midtone wash -- I should take a good look at the two of them side by side to see if they overlap in usefulness. I do love that fabric of the Trouvé one, even though I don't know exactly what it is!

To me, the Sandra Inglish shirt looked like a better shape to pair with skirts; I like the faded Trouvé shirt best with the pants you are wearing here. But they are both really pretty pieces! I adore the structure of the Trouvé shirt too. (unfortunately that made the shirt work against me, but it looks lovely on you.)

I love #1, I think it's very cute tied at the front! I think the lighter weight fabric works better with this style.

If you plan to wear it open as a jacket alternative over dresses and shorts, I like #2. I have a heavier weight denim shirt that I wear like this in the summer.

I like both but if you keep one, my vote goes to #2. It looks great tied or not; the more substantial fabric seems a better choice to use as a jacket; and the lighter wash seems more stylish and summery.

I like 2/3. I think that having a "pre-knotted" shirt would kind of drive me crazy, since it's not very versatile. And it looks like it's tied a bit "high", if you know what I mean.

I like the first one as well Janet. I like the colour and the fabric reads more summery to me in terms of the weight. I like the ties and think you pull off that look beautifully. Plus I worry about items that don't have a fabric tag - how do you know how to properly care for the item?

1 Sandra Ingrish tie-front shirt (I know many of you don't do tie fronts but I like them) in rayon linen blend - very lightweight which I like for our warm weather. I like this one when I see it in the mirror but not as much in the photo.

2-3 Trouvé - a little heavier fabric, feels like Tencel but I can't find any tag with fabrication info strangely enough. #3 shows it with the ends tied loosely.

Either of them? Neither of them? I sometimes want a shirt like this to stand in for a jacket in the summer with dresses, etc, which is why I like the waist tied for a cropped effect.

PS The pants are my new linen casual pants, found at Athleta!
