I like the first ones (Dres) the best - the wrinkling doesn't bother me, I have a few light weight jeans that do this too but they feel comfortable and look good to me.

For me, it's a dead heat between the Dres and the Paiges, though the Paige jeans seem slightly smoother. Both work beautifully for your Quality/Casual look with that simple sweater and those knockout loafers. The Costco leggings are the least flattering in totality, but would look fine with a longer top. Hard to go wrong, I'd say. Love the colors!

I like the dres best and think they look great at that length with the pointy toe loafers, which add a fashionable touch. In my neck of the woods just wearing burgundy jeans of any style would be fashion forward.

Yes- I know exactly what you mean about hot feet . I find a slightly longer than ankle length lets me wear jeans like this with any shoe. But when it's a straight leg jean, length gets tricky . A narrower leg opening lets you play with the hem - scrunching , folding under etc....can't do that with a straight leg . Again , what do I know? I don't have the eye for classic/preppy looks - so that's why I favour a cleaner skinny leg. And lord knows you can wear it with your fantastic figure

Lisap, you bring up an excellent point. I've been focusing on the tucking issue, but I need to consider how to finish the outfit to be current. I think the prevailing thought is to roll the Dres and wear with booties. That is just so not likely to happen with me. One, I like things more streamlined than a roll, and two, all the stars have to align for me to wear booties: it has to be really cold (can't stand hot feet), I have to be going out in the cold, and I have to be going somewhere it is appropriate to wear jeans. Those three things only came together twice last year. So...is there a hem length/regular shoe combination that works with this style of pant in a current way?

All thoughts welcome!

lisap, I think it's funny that you say the skinnier fit is more fashionable--I can see why you say that, but I am influenced by being in a college town where the dominant silhouette is skinny skinny skinny, whether in denim or leggings. To my eye, a more relaxed fit seems more fashion-forward since it's not the basic look I see around me.

Without being influenced by others' comments, I like the Paiges on you best. I prefer the narrower bottom - and think they are ultra-flattering on you. Now that said, the first pair fit you equally well, and are also flattering - it's just the leg opening that looks more "traditional" and less fashiony. To me, burgundy can look preppy and traditional and to make it look modern and new, it needs to be in a silhouette that is also more modern. Unless of course none of that matters to you ;)

Can't really see much of the detail of the Costco pants - but funny the things that happen on the way to the seafood counter. I usually get usurped by DH throwing in random electronics and game controllers when I'm not looking. "Oh the one I had isn't working any more". As if I would know the difference or even know he had one to begin with.

I ordered the Paige because the Dre was already out in my size when I made the decision. I have two other pairs of the Paige Verdugo, but they are in a heavier fabric. I like them. I tried on the Paige version and yes they are more like leggings, which I usually stay away from. I'm glad I was forewarned on the fabric. These fit well and are comfortable, so I'm probably going to keep them, but I suspect with a longer top.

After all that, I think you look fabulous in the Dre. You look good in both, but the first ones look a bit better on you.

They all look great, so I'd focus on versatility. Hands down, I think the Dre's are the clear winner. As you said, you wouldn't feel comfortable tucking with the Paige jeans, so that limits what you do with them. Throw in the inexpensive Costco as your leggings look and you're set.

The Dres fit the most like a regular jean/pant, especially from the back. I have a pair of these I'm deciding on, and I really like them and find them very comfortable. If you like to roll jeans at all, this pair will allow some control for length with any potential bootie.

I agree with Traci--I like the extra ease in the calves of the Dres over the Paiges. More flattering, and more versatile--they are pants, after all.

Seems like the Rag & Bone Dres are more of a true cotton pant than a jean (re: wrinking).

Yes, Traci, the Costco leggings are also burgundy. Attaching a pic of all three below. The order is: Dre, Paige, Costco.

Note that you can see the wrinkles in the Dre that I mentioned in my other thread.

My vote is for Dres + Costco. I like the tiny bit of extra ease in the Dres, especially in the calf area. They have a better balance to me.

Are the Costco pants also burgundy? We need a giant block of cheese, so maybe I'll head there this afternoon.
