I agree that the first one is just too roomy through the shoulders. It seems to be cut for a serious IT! Maybe if you scrunch the sleeves on the second one it won't feel so business-y to you?

I love the second jacket! The first jacket is sweet, but unfortunately ill fitting on the shoulder line, which is seldom worth the alteration. I also really like the longer length worn with jeans and trousers.

Thanks, ladies! Una, I can understand why an IT wouldn't 'get' puffy shoulders! For those of us with some hips, it's a great balance ;)
Now to decide if I should just pass on the NY&Co blazer . . . and if so, would anyone here be interested? It's velvet and a deep teal. Size 4 but I had the back center seam taken in. I mean, I could hang onto it because it is longer and different than C1's cord jacket, but then I would just be hoarding 'options' rather than having things I love in my closet. And I'm really trying to get away from that

(here's a better pic of the true color of the coat)

I love the C1 jacket! So much love going around here! I think the first jacket is much more your style. As to fit, I don't get puffy shoulders, but I trust your judgment.

Love your new jacket. How sweet of Crazyone. I also really like your second jacket too, different vibe.

Mo, if you take it to the tailor remember to bring winter tops for underneath if that is the season you want it for.

I love your new jacket! The curvy structural detail at the back waist is divine. I vote keep both, as to me they're different lengths and have different 'vibes', pending an expert opinion on the fit/tailoring options.

Your pumps are lovely :).

Oooh! That jacket looks perfect for you, Mo. Nice colour on you, too.

Your modification just might work for the fit. Why don't you take it to a seamstress to see what she says? I also think the other blazer could be taken in a bit down the sides for a better fit, but that might be expensive. Still, it wouldn't hurt to find out what it would cost, because that's a completely different type of jacket and if you think you would wear both, it might be worth altering. Then again, maybe you could sell it and get some new fashion $$ for it.

Oh, Lyn, so close and yet so far!! I hope she comes home soon!
Alicat, it's a puff sleeve and when I raise my arms it moves. Looks fine when I'm standing like a normal person lol. And I have to rememer that while I'm wearing a tank under them right now, I will likely be wearing sleeves underneath this fall and winter, so I need a little room. But I don't want it too big, either . . .

I think 1/2 is more your style, Mo I concur with 3/4 looking a bit big for you! I like the "mod" you made to it in 5/6! How creative!

My package has arrived too; except my neighbor has signed for it, and now it's in her house somewhere and she's not home. Ugh.

Maybe it's time I invested in a doorbell.

I got the jacket in the mail from Crazyone (thanks!) and it's super cute! (pics 1 & 2) But I think it needs tailoring if I want to keep it? I'm thinking an easy fix would be to add a second button up higher to pull in and lock and load that extra fabric under the bust. EDIT (pics 5 & 6)
For comparison, here is my deep teal velvet blazer from NY & Co that a few have said looks a tad big on me. (pics 3 & 4)
So, are they both too big? I know the style of C1's cord jacket is more me, whereas my blazer feels more 'officey'. What to do, what to do . . .

(and just for fun I tried on my one and only pair of pumps to see if I could ever really wear nude ones . . . like training wheels hee hee)
