My first better quality jeans after weight loss were a pair of NYDJ. I am not sure which style they were. Probably not the one you have here. But they were high in the waist and high in the rise -- too high even for me, which is a near impossibility -- and although they looked good when I tried them on in the store and I <b>thought</b> I loved them, they ended up bagging out something awful and I never felt good in them. However, as far as the bottom portion, I think that the Horton split seam detracts from the pretty design of the ankle strap shoes and will do so even if you shorten or roll the hem. On the other hand, if you were only planning to wear them with various types of simple short boots, then I think that it is a nice detail to jazz up plain boots.
