sarah, thanks for the info on Gap. I was just looking at a few of their options so I'm glad to have your thumbs-up. Also good point that inseam may matter more than whether something is technically petite. I need to do a little more research/thinking to figure out what my sweet spot is.

Suz, makes sense that not everyone who is technically petite requires petite items (I NEVER buy petite tops). Although my legs are proportionally long, my rise is short, and I think that's what's driving me to seek a specialized cut. I can often make regular loungewear hit at the right spots (waist and length) by folding the waistband over, but...I just don't want to do that anymore if I can avoid it.

FashIntern, haha, we're on the same wavelength.

Ooh, La Ped, are those Uniqlo joggers woven? How interesting. I hadn't considered something like that.

Thanks La Ped, Toban, and karen13 for the Athleta recommendation. I'll definitely check them out. I think I do want something that's soft rather than synthetic, BUT it would be great if my lounge pants could double as to-and-from-the-gym pants (I swim, so I don't need the pants to be workout gear). I'm realizing I'm still in the "what exactly do I want?" phase here.

kkards, no retail stone unturned! Thanks for the tip.

Angie, now that you mention Anthropologie, OF COURSE! But I never would have thought of them on my own. Many thanks!

Another thumbs up on Athleta - I have lots of their petites. They often run generous in sizing, so read reviews. I don’t wear joggers due to calf sucking issues but DD loves the Soho and the Cosmic. And any of the lined versions (soho) are dreamy. I have the lined wide leg midtown trousers which are no longer made and I never take them off.

Check out Athleta. Many of their pieces are available in petite lengths online. I have a super comfy pair of navy joggers from them.

You might take a look at Athleta; most of their pants come in a short inseam and they have some cute options that could do double duty as gym/dog-walking pants. Mostly synthetic though, which may not be what you want.

I bet the Uniqlo Drape Joggers would work for you. I found them a little short for my 31" inseam (the feeling of banded elastic sweatpants riding up on my ankles is an old sensory pet peeve, probably a holdover from childhood growth spurts).

Lol, yeah, that's why I shop the sales page of the outlet site. My tunic top from there was around 20. Can't remember what the leggings/pants were, but see some for 40, so guess mine might've been the same (but think it was less).

I'm 5'4" but don't buy petites as a rule. I don't wear dedicated loungewear terribly often and manage with regular sized PJs etc. The loungewear joggers I own are rather old but still in great shape. And the length works perfectly for me.

GAP has some joggers in petite sizing. I have the ones below and my daughter does as well, in several colors. They are super soft and comfortable. I also love these Alternative track pants. I pretty much wear them every evening. They are super cozy. They don't come in petite, but they work well for me because they have a short inseam (28.5). I'm 5'1" for reference.

Thanks, Fashintern. I am mainly concerned with inseam length, not overall size, but perhaps those cropped pants from Life Is Good would work as full-length on petites. I have to admit my first reaction to Soft Surroundings was: wow, spendy! Despite my vow to be willing to spend more on those constantly-worn basics like loungewear. Old mental habits die hard!

Daisy Avalin, Primark could be a good source for UK-based petites to check out, thanks for throwing it in the ring!

My go-to for loungewear [leggings, sweatpants, full-length pyjama pants] is Primark, but I'm in the UK and not sure if Primark can be accessed overseas! I would assume you could order online, but I haven't tried.

I'm gearing up for the wardrobe basics challenge and I already know that I'll need to replenish my loungewear. Can anyone suggest source for soft comfies that come in petites?

I'll be specifically looking for jogger-type pants -- I'd love something soft and forgiving, but refined. A step up from athletic sweatpants IYKWIM. Want to feel like I'm cuddling up, not like I'm giving up. :-p

But in addition to jogger pants, please feel free to post your favorite sources for all sorts of petite loungewear, so that this thread can serve as a resource for all us shorties.
