I must confirm one of the reviews - the size 6 feels like it’s an 8. Way too big in the body and it looked sloppy and lost its intrinsic cuteness. Although I size up 99% time in coats I’m keeping the 4. Room for a blazer, sweater and belt. I would have liked just a bit more room in the shoulders and arms for easy, they fit fine, and tbh it’s not for super cold weather. If I need that many layers I’d wear a puffer. You always find unusual but incredibly function pieces.<br /> Suz - This length is tough to find in a gear fabric but with elegant but practical styling. It’s also not stiff or constricting. Glad it worked out! :)</p> <p>Thanks for the review, and always worthwhile to compare sizes.&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/barbour-constable-review#post-2332050 Mon, 24 Jul 2023 21:27:40 +0000 gryffin 2332050@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Well I should clearly complain more as both my jackets shipped the night I posted they were stuck in awaiting pick up.  The size 4, my usual size arrived today and the size 6 is slated to arrive thursday.  I will update on sizing after I get that one.  This jacket would fulfill a needed wardrobe hole - nice, social gear but elegant.  Too cold for a leather jacket, wool coat too formal or precious but too warm for a puffer.  This jacket is really perfect.  It's very light weight but has substance and warmth.  It's a line in the best possible way, like the mod a line dresses of the 60's.  The side kangaroo pockets are at the perfect comfortable level.  Huge buttoned pockets (so no need for a purse but the pockets are below the hips so you can load them if needed and not feel hippy). As I often wear a belt with a heavy buckle the a line, but not too a line gives plenty of hip room for ease.  But it's actually quite tailored for this style the fit shoulders and not too wide arm give a sense of sleekness. I would call this TTS shoulders or slightly small (that's barbour from what I've read) the sleeves are neat but I could slip this easily over a blazer.  I need to try this on with the appropriate underlayers.  There is a double zip with a buttoned placket (I prefer snaps but that's not a deal breaker. You can button this to the top without choking for warmth.  There is a fun patterned lining and a left upper inside zip pocket.  Sleeves are long enough.  For my purposes this jacket is the bomb.  It's so perfect for what I want.  It's a total lady coat, interesting but the fabric makes it sporty.  Just what a princess of darkness would wear on an easy hike or outdoor adventure when you want to look nicer and don't need rugged gear.  I will probably keep the 4 but I'm looking forward to trying the 6.  Quality is great, corduroy is soft not stiff.  If you are considering it, I would definitely say the stalk is worth it.  Perfect transitional coat, would be great for travel.  Highly recommended </p>
