WOW, never even thought of putting insoles in them. Thanks for the suggestion. Also, the more rigid ones are probably exactly what I need.

I JUST KNEW I COULD COUNT ON YOU FAB LADIES TO FIND ME THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a million!

I highly recommend Superfeet black insoles. They fit in all my ballet flats (regular size) and they are rigid so the arch support is actually functional. Soft supports aren't really helpful as they just collapse under the weight.

Another option is to buy a slightly larger size and pop in an arch-support insole.

Ecco brand are more firm or structured than some others. I agree with you that some flats are almost like walking barefoot.

I don't own any flats except for a couple pairs of sandals and athletic shoes. I would like to get a cute pair of ballet flats, but the ones I have looked at/tried on do not have any support in them whatsoever. Is this just typical or are there some that have cushy soles and arch support? Any brands that come to mind?

Thanks in advance, Susan D
