Thanks for the sympathy Rae...I know right? Poor design?! My wallet isn't any bigger than my friends' wallets and those bags were clearly not evening bags. So frustrating!

Grr, what poor design! That size should easily hold a wallet, keys, and cell... oh well, at least you tried them out sooner rather than later. Give the blue a hug in the mean time, and my fingers are crossed for the cream!

Oops...I added my update to the original post instead. Upshot is that the Anne Klein bags aren't big enough and will be returned.

I love the blue bag and think they all work sizewise for you. I'm not a huge fan of chains as crossbody for personal comfort, but those are my only reservations. I'd swap one of them for a more everyday crossbody if you need. I think cream can be kept clean if you pretreat it, wipe it when necessary and have some saddle soap around just in case. I can't tell the proportions of the bag, but I like the style a lot.

Great finds all round, Sunita --- and I'd actually vote for keeping the tan only because of the upkeep the cream might need, and having both might take the pressure off the cream and off you! (shake some salt on this! I'm a notorious klutz and may well be projecting!)...

Love the blue bag! So awesome! I also like the red and brown. But I adore the blue the best. I think it is a good idea to consider the the tan and cream will fill a defferent wardrobe need, it yes keep i'd them both but if you think they will overlap i would consider a return on the tan... although it is cute!

Love the blue and from what I have seen of your WIW posts, should fit in nicely with your wardrobe.
I also really like the python crossbody bags - the red especially. My only question on having two crossbody repeats in this style is if one or both work into your OTG or casual days as well or maybe you have another option for those days?

I think the cream will be versatile - the texture is lively element.

I do love to duplicate when something is perfect. It may turn out that the tan bag works very differently than cream, so this is all just a hypothesis from a gal in pare-down mode. :)

The practicality of the cream bag wil probably come down tot he finish of the material. If it is very soft and nubuck-ish, then it will pick up every bit of grime in the air. However, it looks like it may have a more glossy quality, which will resist most dirt and wipe off easily. If it's manmade material, it should be easy to clean as well.

With the Anne Kleins, I debated whether to get two of the same bag...but they were on sale at Macy's for $40 each, so I went ahead. They also had it in grey, but that looked a bit dull. The brown is a great neutral and I can see using it a lot.

Rae: I hadn't thought of the cream bag being a subsitute for the brown AK one. Good point! I'll compare the two once the Zappos one arrives. But, as Meredith points out, I wonder if it's a practical color for a high-usage item!

LOVE that blue bag - I have two Makowskys, and I love them so much. They really hold up well and feel nice in the hand or on the shoulder IMO. I am not 100% sure, but I might argue to keep only the red chain bag. They are so much alike, and the neutral one might serve largely the same function as a cream bag, once you find the perfect one...

All all lovely and seem to fit your style and frame very nicely. You've duplicated the Ann Klein bag in two colors, and they're different enough color-wise to not be noticed by those who see you daily. Still, some of us love duplicates -- like we're duplicating fabness. and some of us have to have more variation. As long as you're not one of the latter, I say keep all three!

BTW -- I too am looking for a cream bag. And came home with a shiny patent croc bag in ===== gray! Lol!

I went shopping for handbags yesterday...I must have tried about a dozen places, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, Nordstrom, and Macy's. I came home completely exhausted!

I bought these 3 bags and would love to get your feedback on whether they were good picks. I am 5'3", so I went for smaller bags to suit my frame.

The blue bag is a B. Makowsky and is real leather. I love the color of this bag. The other 2 are Anne Klein and are man-made materials. They're very structured and the chain handle (which unfortunately adds weight) can be doubled up for use on the shoulder, or elongated for a longer/cross-body look.

I also want a small cream-colored bag, and found the Etienne Aigner Tiffany tote (small) on Zappos (pic 9).

So, what do you think?

UPDATE: I tried out the Anne Klein bags last night, and they wouldn't stay closed once I put my stuff in them....aargh! I know, I know...I really should have checked this before I bought them. But it's not like it was a lot of stuff...just my wallet, car keys and cell. Those bags are going back. I'm keeping the blue one though, and the cream bag arrives from Zappos later today!

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. They've helped me refine my search for a good bag that works for me.
