@ alaskagirl - Thanks for the heads up for the Kipling bags. I am also in the market for a nice backpack. The challenger Kipling backpack looks very promising. :)

@ Daria - I am excited to get mine. I should have it sometime this week.

After reading everyones comments I am very excited to get my bag.

I have a Baggalini bag very similar to the one you ordered - bought it at the airport heading to Rome for our honeymoon! Very lightweight and great quality. It's still going strong - I'm mostly use it for travel.

@ Inge - Oooo… The Matt and Nat purses look very promising. Thanks for the heads up on them.

@ Walkinthepark - The Sydney purse looks nice too. I just may have to get more than one of these purses. I know I want to get a bag for sure.

@ Susie - I am getting excited for the purse to arrive. I already want to get a couple of others

@ rizamel - I seen a you tube video on the Avenue tote. I already want one after watching the video. It would be for travel etc.

@Laura - I am hoping the one I chose meets my needs. I do a lot of walking at least 15k a day.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on these bags. I am hoping I love the one I ordered.

I've got two bigger bags from them - one I used as a gym bag and a carryon sized tote. Both have been really hard wearing and sturdy.

The one you've chosen looks very functional. I like cross body bags for traveling and lots of walking, but for everyday I prefer something that can be worn cross body or on my shoulder, just because getting into and out of the car it's tedious to put the purse on and take it off cross body. But if you use transit or walk instead of driving that may not be as much of a concern.

I own two of the larger totes - bought the second one only because I got a larger laptop that didn't fit in the first. I use my newer one for travel, and sometimes also use it as my everyday work tote. I like the lightweight, but sturdy and easy-to-clean fabric, and the thoughful design. Mine has a back pocket that unzips to go over a suitcase handle, a great front outside pocket for a cellphone, various places to clip keys, handy pockets inside, and both shoulder straps and a crossbody strap. The bright inside lining also makes it easier to find all the different things that I stuff inside it.

It's not the most stylish or formal option, but the functionality is hard to beat.

I have 3 of them- one with lots of pockets for travel, a very small cross body when I need to carry just the minimum hands free (wine festival comes to mind!) and a larger one that I used as a boat bag. The quality is great and the fabric strong and light.

I do. I carried one across China: immensely useful, all the right features, nice and light. Marks you for a western tourist tho.

I love Baggalini's! I use mine mostly for travel because they super lightweight and functional for all the little things you need to carry. I'm on my second, and just bought one for my BFF for a big trip we have coming up!

I love the one you chose and I think you will appreciate how well made and practical it is.

I bought a similar style Baggalini in espresso a couple years ago to take on vacation. I loved it. I have since bought the same style in black. They are tough and versatile little bags! The style I bought has an adjustable shoulder strap and can be used on the shoulder or across the body. Handy to have the option. It also keeps me organized because of the many compartments, pockets, and zipped spaces. Lastly, I have washed it in the washing machine, air dried it and it comes out looking new. I now use them as my every day bag.

Mine is the older style of the Sydney. It has a snap instead of the turn buckle on the outside pocket.

I have a few Baggalini bags... I like them bc they are lightweight and I have trouble with my back.

Haven't been using them recently but I will use a really small crossbody for travel this summer.

I don't have any experience with Baggalini, rubygirl, but I like this style because it is so practical for everyday use and for trips when you want to have your hands free (I can't do crossbodies any longer because they cause me neck pain, very annoying). The middle pocket sounds very handy too.
As you mentioned, the canvas material does make it more casual, but if that works with your lifestyle and style preferences then you are sorted:-)

Because you mentioned leather, I suddenly thought of Matt & Nat as a potential alternative. Angie wrote about them this week:
http://youlookfab.com/2015/05/.....-matt-nat/
They have quite a few crossbodies available at the moment:
http://mattandnat.com/shop/handbags/crossbody

Has anyone bought or own a Baggalini purse?
I have ordered the criss cross style in an espresso colour. The style is a cross body which I do like that style of purse for convenience when out and about.
The criss cross has a hidden middle pocket which is great for a cellphone or whatever.

I know it is not leather, which I would have preferred but every leather bag I looked at was a bit disappointing. I have been lugging around my heavy Roots purse in search of a casual cross body for summer outings.
The purse will be for more everyday use.

I have added some pictures of the one I ordered.

I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has one and their thoughts. The bag line was designed by a stewardess.
They do have many different styles of bags.
