Thanks! While thinking about this it is as much that I am evolving to a new style... my existing bag is pretty big with heavy feature zips... maybe I need something "neater" to go with patent ballets and oxfords! Checking out those posts shipskitty!

There is no fashion faux pas to wearing patent with non-patent as far as I am aware.

I prefer bags and shoes not to match most of the time anyway - not even in colour - but it's not a hard and fast rule - sometimes I do match them LOL.

Here's a couple of Angie's posts about Match/Mismatch:

http://youlookfab.com/2009/01/.....and-shoes/

http://youlookfab.com/2006/05/.....-it-works/

http://youlookfab.com/2011/01/.....-mismatch/

Maybe they will help?

Hope you find a fabulous bag!

I think you will be fine with another leather bag. Doesn't need to be a special fabric.

I am in a dilemma... I have some new winter flats (I am from Aust!) and notice BOTH have black patent detailing. My black bag which I use SOOOO much is getting a bit shabby and is a plain black leather slouchy bag which I am considering replacing if the right bag comes along. Any ideas on styling/fabric/shape for the black bag? The shoes are lace up oxfords with patent detailing and chanel-esque dressy ballet flats with the black patent toe. I will mainly use the bag for work including work travel so a mini is no good but I still want it to be a handbag I can carry on my shoulder. My look is modern classic and I will do the shoes with wide leg pants, dressy knit tops, jackets, scarves for "very business" casual work style. Thanks everyone!
