Hahaha! Carla, you nailed the look in the pics. Except mine are more uneven and there are several longer than the year pieces. Didn't get a flat iron yet but a combination of blow drying and the Garnier paste are helping. It is more bed-head than unkempt. I have a pre-Christmas appointment with the stylist. I will ask about this gloss treatment. I need my hair to look purposefully unkempt!

Sorry about the hair situation, but understand. Did the same thing, but my 'new' stylist (2nd time) talked me into a trim that supports wash and wear curls, and out of colouring. (Said he thought my natural colour was lovely!-Just what one wants to hear!). He did do a 'gloss' treatment that seems to have provided some shine and conditioning.

Can you spike the short bangs into a shaggy fringe? How short is short - pixie or below the ears?

Amen, Elpgal. I'm still very much on edge, too. Thank goodness hair grows, and elections come around again eventually.

Don't have the facial structure for spiky hair but I will get the flat iron and the styling gels that El Cee recommends. Off to experiment.

Although in all fairness, elections are not solely to blame. They are just exacerbating the bad moods.

You can do what Helena suggests, Elpgal. But you have to straighten it with an iron first. It does not work with curls.

When Angie's was shorter, she sort of spiked up the front in a cool, gamine way ... Could you try that?

You may want to try Garnier Fructis Style Deconstructed Pixie Play Crafting Cream. It is inexpensive ($3) and can be found at most drug stores and places like Target and Walmart. I have a very short haircut and a lot of stubborn cowlicks -- so even though I love my current cut, I still have "bad hair days". On those days I rely heavily on Pixie Play. I also use Paul Mitchell Firm Style Dry Wax if I need firmer hold (on days when my cowlicks are particularly stubborn). It is more expensive ($20), but you do not need to use much -- a little goes a long way. I get the Paul Mitchell wax at a local beauty supply store, but I believe you can also find it at places like Ulta and Sephora. Both of these products can be ordered through Amazon. Good luck!

Angie's suggestion of a flat iron is also a good one. I use a flat iron daily on my bangs.

Get a flat iron at the drug store and straighten those pesky curly bits around your face. Then wait three weeks to get a better cut.

In a fit of post election nuttiness, I stopped on my way home from work and got a haircut at Hair Cuttery. A terrible horrible no good one! I don't know what got into me.

Super short with very strange layers. Since I actually have to go to work tomorrow, what can do to keep the too short bangs and curly layers off my face. Hair clips and butterfly clips are not doing the trick. I think I need PRoduct! Ideas, suggestions. Ideally something I can get at CVS or Sephora.
