Your neighbors (with any experience with kids) feel sympathy (not annoyance) with you about your crying DD. I was so worried about that when I had little kids; now that they are older I realize that most people just feel sorry for the parents. I'm not sure to say that I hope that you find the rock or that you don't, if you know what I mean. I hope she didn't swallow it (but she probably didn't).<br />2. Chipmunk in the intake?! Well, that is one heck of a story. You *will* look back and laugh. And really, that chipmunk had a very, very bad day, too. (Poor you guys, I'm not trying to make light of this too much having suffered from a dead something last summer in our ventilation system. About 5 days of stink...)<br />3. The fall? Now that really is awful, and I'm so sorry. Terrible to feel hurt and embarrassed. She screamed all<br /> the way to the end of the block. We tried to pacifier her with some leaves that worked for a very short while. At the furthest point on our walk, I notice she doesn’t have the rock she likes to hold anymore. And now I am worried she swallowed it as we hadn’t heard it drop. But maybe it did . . . I called the doctor and they said it s a wait and see game. We get home after she cries the whole way back for her rock. I am sure the neighborhood loved us. </p> <p>I finally got her to bed, and went down to do laundry. All the clothes in the dryer stunk to high heaven. And I mean STUNK. They made the whole laundry area reek. DH came when I called him and he grimaced at the stench. He came over and I told him I had no idea how the towels went from smelling clean out of the washer to the <b><i>worst </i></b>smell.  DH said it smelled like a dead animal (no<br /> idea how he knows what that smells like). He bet that something had crawled<br /> into the dryer vent and died. He spent the next 3 hours disassembling the dryer<br /> to figure out how to get the vent off, cursing the whole time with me yelling<br /> at him not to wake DD. The smell was so bad I ended up with a migraine.<br /> Turns out it was a dead chipmunk in the dryer intake.So much fun to clean, and of course, we have toget the smell out of the basement.</p> <p>The package with my new watch in it (along with a couple of new coats to try) was supposed to be delivered last night. According to UPS, they delivered it at 2:26pm. I had been so excited to get it, and after searching high and low for it, I couldn’t find it. I had to file a claim with Nordstrom. First package in 10 years that did not show up at the house when it said it did.</p> <p>Then, I get to work, all stoked wearing my new booties, and I slip and fall down a half flight of stairs on my way in. So embarrassed.  And now my ankle is so sore I can barely walk or stand. </p> <p>DD's birthday and my father-in-laws birthday is this weekend. We were supposed to go to the zoo among other things. I hope I can walk this pain off by then!</p> <p>Is it Friday the 13th and no one told me?!?</p> <p>Update: chipmunk is gone and with it the smell. Two runs through the washer, and the towels smell fine. We ran the dryer with an old blanket and some febreeze. When we dried the towels, they were fine.</p> <p>DD seems fine. Good appetite and things are moving through her. So either they found the rock at daycare and didn't mention it, or she never ate it. Most likely the second.</p> <p>Still waiting to hear from Nordstrom on my package.</p> <p>Ankle is still super sore. Rescheduling the zoo (thank goodness DD is so little) and going to call the doctor. </p>
