Sloper--thank you!
Peri--I've got one coming in the mail, one of the Macy's ones. You are probably right...not super comfortable, but I feel like anything structured is uncomfortable--straps or not.

I wore one of those for my wedding dress...first and last time! (the bustier, but also not having another wedding either. )

I can't even imagine wearing that kind of thing around for a normal day. But also, I can't imagine wearing any clothes that don't let me wear a normal bra, being as "blessed" as I am. (Note: I do not feel blessed.) So, no actual advice here!

It’s a pretty top! I’ve always avoided off-the-shoulder tops because of the bra issue. Angie’s option looks comfortable.

Helena--thanks

Janet--I think I have worn both the sticky bra, and the nipple covers, and they were great! But you really have to be sure they look alright. Wore the covers under an off the shoulder shirt a few months ago, and only a distant photo looked okay. Had to delete the close-ups. Luckily, we were just watching the Oscars at home.

Aquamarine--I am sure strapless bras is an area that was ripe for improvement, and probably still is! I hope I can find one.

Jaime--I love a good bralette, but usually just at home.

Angie--that actually looks like a pretty good option, because the band looks supportive, but also more comfortable!

Some of my clients wear the stickies. They are small-breasted and it seems to work well for them.

For strapless bras, I found that this one works quite well. I sized up in the cup for a better fit.

Sloper--I do! No important function. Just is a good idea to have one. I will be starting with this top.

Honestly I can barely find a fully strapped bra that is functional and comfortable - I would love to wear strapless, a bralette, etc. but it's not going to happen.

I think I was 10 years old the last time I wore anything strapless lol. But it seems there are better strapless bras around now, based on all I’ve read. Can’t tell you which ones, though!

I’m with you on strapless bras — I have one that’s I’ve kept even though it’s not comfortable in the heat (gives me a heat rash under my boobs), and let’s face it, the only time I want something strapless is to wear a dress that bares skin and that’s in summer.

I wore one of those longline strapless bras under my wedding dress but that was 22 years and 15 lbs ago. It looks a bit like torture to me now. I have a hard time imagining that sticky bra thing is at all comfortable or effective, but maybe that’s just me. The older I get, the less inclined I am to suffer for style.

It is seeming more and more that a strapless bra is in order--for everything from the simplest tank dress to perhaps a red-carpet plunging look, if I ever try that. But the last time I bought a strapless bra (20 years ago or so), I might as well have just thrown that money in a river. Despite having structured cups and a thin, but stable band, it just sunk down towards my stomach, even though the band was snug.

I finally realized a bustier might work, because of the ample structuring around the rib cage. I do have a larger bust, so it would be important that it worked well. The first has very good reviews, but can't do backless looks. The second has decent reviews, and a plunging back. I am leaning towards the first, for the good reviews, although it is less flexible.

And then for backless looks, or other looks, I am leaning towards a sticky bra, which does come in larger sizes. But do people like these, or find they need more support? I actually feel fine physically with no bra, but I'm not about to go out without one. I need the neatness of looking "contained," and I wonder if a sticky bra would do that.
