I just bought the mule/clog socks below in black; the ones shown are on back order until May. They help keep my toes warm when I don't want to wear socks.

Fussy feet can be so variable; I think you'll just have to read as many reviews as you can and kiss a lot of frogs.

I swear by these Merrill Encores - I have Spring/Fall and Winter versions (fleece lined!), haven't tried the summer (Breeze) version (Find 1). They come M and W widths. I have a C/D foot and often find the the M width works. I love that they have a removable footbed so can work with an orthotic under (helps my occasional flares of PF), and the small lip keeps them on my feet and completely hides my 3/4 orthotic under the footbed. Super Comfy even without the orthotic. Does not irritate my pump bump at all. I live in these. Merrill makes a lot of backless shoes, some with no heel lip, so try googling Merrill Slides.

I just bought the silver Naturalizer, which comes W and WW. They might work for you - they were an Angie Top Pick, I think. Mine are going back as the footbed is not removable. But it is very cushy. Ran true to size.

I've seen a lot of mules / slides / backless sneakers appearing this season, so your timing is excellent. I'm not sure how many come in wider widths, and you probably want to keep things extra comfy while you're recovering. What about these Vans? The sizing is unisex, so it might fit well through the toe. But looking closely, they might have a bit of a back. If that's a problem, I think there are other brands that don't.
http://www.vans.com/shop/brush.....true-white
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/va.....en/4174562 (the color and sizing are both described wrong on this I think)

Also, if your feet get cold, I really think the right socks with sandals or mules can be cool.

I like Danskos also. Walking cradles are good too. I saw these onlinehttps://walkingcradles.com/col.....ck-leather not sure of sizing they just say wide wide but I've seen other sites with Walking Cradles with widths in letters. I guess these aren't great for cold feet but if you need some sandals maybe. I have plantar fasciitis and seem to do better with a little bit of a heel (just meaning that the shoes slant downward from the back to the front and not lower in the back than the front) but I do wear Birks all summer long which is surprising since they are so low in the back. Good luck! looks like you found some good ones to try.

I love Dansko and Sanita clogs. They don't make many in the backless style, but they are supremely comfy IMO. There are also wooden clogs in more colors, but I don't have any experience with them. Also, Zappos has free shipping both ways.

I recently had surgery on my heel to remove a benign tumor. I have wide toes that are C width. I also have plantar fasciitis. I'm looking for comfortable flat shoes that are completely backless. I also have cold feet. I work in an office without a dress code. I've ordered Birkenstock Arizona and clogs, as well as Bella-Vita mae slides, Soft Walk Tillman, and Calvin Klein Irene slip on sneakers. I ordered from Amazon and Nordstrom for ease of returns. If you have any suggestions of any other shoes that would be good for me, I'd appreciate them. I have fussy feet and I never know what will work. Thanks!
