It will heat the phone and the battery. It is a super lightweight ( pack of gum ) small back up charger for the iphone, this one is for the 4, but they have them for all iPhones. It gives you an additional 3 hours of talk time. This is not something to travel a long time with because it only charges one time and then you need to recharge the back up itself. I think that it is only 1200 mAmps.&nbsp;But it is fantastic for hiking, biking, or just being away from a charger all day.
