Maybe worth a post on its own?</p> <p>I actually prefer active vacations. When I've done a lying on the beach vacation, I'm much less relaxed than a biking or hiking or snorkeling/exploring vacation. A cruise sounds like torture to me! Bliss!</p> <p>Both of our schedules are about to get way more hectic (husband is buying out his business partner so he'll be ultra-busy restructuring his company, and I'm about to take on a radio gig again), so we thought we'd squeeze in this trip before we go crazy. Normally our trips are full of sightseeing, hiking, camping, etc. -- very active -- so this was our first ever lie-on-a-beach and chill vacation in the 13+years we've been together! No kids, no activities, no commitments, no agenda. What a treat it was!</p> <p>It got us really thinking about how we relax -- or don't. In retrospect, we can't believe it took us this long to take a trip lke this. I think we'll be doing this on a regular basis now. </p> <p>What about you all? Just wanted to pop in and say hello since I've been away for the last week. My husband and I took a rather impromptu vacation, so we've been relaxing for the last six days in a place where my wardrobe amounted to two swimsuits, four sundresses and a couple of pairs of sandals! Wow, does that make things easy. And I barely wore any makeup the entire time -- some tinted moisturizer, lip balm, and an occasional swipe of mascara were it. Oh, and I barely even used a blow dryer on my hair.</p> <p>It makes me think about how simple or complicated fashion choices can be! I guess it helps when you're in a place like Cabo San Lucas where every day it's 85 and sunny and every night is 65 and breezy. We came home to muggy, overcast weather with tornado warnings and thunderstorms today, so it's quite an adjustment. </p>
