I'm smiling to think you found YLF a refuge of sorts. It has that effect on all of us I think. Please take care of yourself as much as possible while you rest up. Often we go into overdrive when the need strikes and it is surprising how the fatigue can set in later when the adrenaline has worn off. You'll be no good to Mom if you have to be admitted to the hospital too! It was very hard. All kinds of stuff to deal with, including fancy shots post-chemo to boost white blood cell counts for five days after the actual chemo session. There are several more chemo treatments and I will be flying back and forth for those. </p> <p>I'm exhausted, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the wonderful support I got here from YLF'ers when I first found out about this, and further - while I was out of town helping look after my Mom - the few moments I got to just kick back and relax - it was *great* to just look around YLF and forget all about cancer and chemo stuff for just a little while. </p> <p>Even though I haven't really been 'around' - I wanted to say that YLF is a bright spot - a great place to just chill and enjoy something non-scary - something fun, something creative and something enjoyable. Can't tell you how much YLF has helped, even behind the scenes, so to speak. Cheered me right up in the midst of some tough times. </p> <p>Thank you for that! And thank you to everyone who wrote back on my threads several weeks ago when I first heard the news and didn't really know what was going to happen - you eased my fears and provided a lot of support and useful advice. It really helped a whole lot!</p> <p>Back home for a few weeks - rest up, recuperate, and shore myself up so that I can help support my Mom for the next round of chemo and the subsequent bone marrow stimulating shots next time around. </p> <p>By the way - I was very inspired and felt supported by all those fantastic 'pink' outfits posted on the main forums throughout the past several weeks. I wore my own hot pink Joe Fresh sweater to a "Chemo Teaching Class" at the local hospital with my Mom. I'm not a fan of pale pink (on myself), but bright, 'hot pink' ?&nbsp; I kind of like it now - thanks to Angie's fab new coat. </p> <p>Just need to spend a couple of of weeks resting up. I will probably cry a bit (tried really hard not to do that while I was with my Mom) and get myself in shape so that I can be a good, positive, supportive person for my Mom's next round of chemo. </p> <p>Thanks again YLF - you have helped a lot more than you realize. </p> </p>
