Sometimes I feel like that's the only thing that ever shows when you travel in cold weather. On one trip as an experiment I took only 1 pair of jeans, one pair of black pants, 2 black cashmere turtlenecks, a few scarves, and an extra coat. Period! And I felt like I had plenty to wear! I do find that I feel appropriately dressed in more polished and put-together clothes there than I typically wear at home in the US. I love your blog! Claire, that scarf in #1 is a silk/ cashmere large square shawl that is SO versatile: it can be worn lots of different ways. I'm a big proponent of carry-on only packing and this is the way to do it. Kudos for spending your space on the extra coat. That top layer is what most people see and I'm sure it gave you a much needed change to be able to alternate them. I love your silk scarf in #1 and I'm positively drooling over the (python?) one in #4. Your packing strategy was fantastic....you mixed and matched your pieces very well and I really liked all the animal print. It gives a certain pep to neutral outfits. It's perfection! Didn't you feel glad for having brought trousers? And I think the bright coat makes a difference, too. Even on a cold dreary day, it provides such a welcome bit of vivid life. I couldn't agree more about the usefulness of scarves on a trip like this -- they do add a bit of pattern and variety. Although speaking of pattern, love that top in #9!!!!!
