cyan, I agree with everyone else that a proper bra fitting is a good idea, and there is no way the fitter will care about skin issues or your cup size.

Having said that, I am wondering if you can wear it without a bra? I know you called yourself "flat chested," so would that be a possibility? At the very least, if you try it on without the bra, you will be able to see if the bra is causing the back fat problem.

Only I am allowed to have that badge :)

Honestly though, with warm weather upon us, I am seeing more bra-related sins than ever. It's so disturbing. Women who are clearly at least a DD running around with NOTHING at all. Unsightly underarm fat. Quadri-boob. Breast tissue spilling out all over the place, or spreading outwards under the arms. Boobs jiggling under tight white tshirts. Girls who think "I have small boobs and therefore don't need a real bra" oblivious to their glaring headlights. It's a nightmare. There should really be a police force in charge of dealing with these sorts of crimes.

Please remember that the women who do bra fittings are trained professionals. They do this for a living. Would it be in their best interest to look at you with disgust and ridicule, even if that is how they actually felt (which they definitely won't)? And do you think you're the first small-busted person they have fitted? No way.

BTW, if you go down a band size, which you will, you're going to go up a cup size. And they will find a bra for you that will fill you out more, if you're concerned about being flat-chested.

I'm going to echo everyone else - the right band size for my bra pretty much eliminated back fat for me. I went to myintimacy, and the bra fitter there was very kind and non-judgmental.

More peer pressure (poor Lisa!) -- get a bra fitting Like Marianna says, bra fitters have seen it all -- different sizes, shapes, skin issues, etc. They don't necessarily have to be in the room while you are putting the bra on. I think a good fitter will know how to deal with modesty issues.

I think has become my job on YLF to force everyone to get a bra fitting. It sounds like your back band is too loose, thus riding up and causing back fat. Please see last example on this page:

Louise is right -- I kept my cami on, but only around my stomach because I hate my belly. If I remember correctly, that's not the area you're concerned about so a cami wouldn't help. That said, bra fitters have seen it all! I have some back acne and clearly lots of back fat, AND other weird looking stuff... and my bra fitter was 10000% cool about it all.

Otherwise, I have no advice... except that I highly doubt it's very noticeable because you're so svelte!

Spanx has a new bra called Brallelujah -- especially designed to minimize back fat. Try the underwire version.

I know you don't want to hear this but I think a proper bra fitting is the way to go it could be the wrong size bra causing the back fat, I'm sure when marianna went she kept on her cami would that help you with your skin issues? x

i was so excited to try on a potential matte jersey dress for an upcoming wedding...until i noticed a huge bulge of back fat! i tried adjusting my bra strap down, pulling up my spanx shape wear as far as possible (until it touched by bra, both front and back)...no luck.

one size is a little more fitted (shows more waist definition), and the larger size skims. both however happily reveal the bulge.

i am almost ready to return them both. to be fair, the fabric is not super flimsy, includes a liner, and drapes beautifully.

is there anything i can wear to minimize the back fat? if at all possible, i prefer to avoid a professional bra fitting, due to embarrassing skin issues and flat chest. double lose, lol.

thanks for your help...
