Today I think it got up to about 60F here, which was perfect for what I was wearing. It helps that I wear it when I’m mostly out and about, in the car or walking around outside, grocery store, quick errands, etc. If I were going to be indoors for an hour or more, say working in my studio, the jacket would come off. </p> <p>The makeup clean out felt so good! More so than I expected. I need to tackle some other storage areas of my home. Pandemic times resulted in some mild hoarding of, um, random things ranging from grooming products to jigsaw puzzles. Add to that the unpacking of the camper and all the associated cleaning and storing (which means taking a good look at the stuff we took along that we never used once in seven weeks!). Plus I now have some of my inventory from the studio now in my office at home, so I’m feeling cluttered, which I do not like! For years I used a $25 little red writing desk because it was the only thing I found that fit in that little space, which is the only spot we have for it. I kept thinking I would repaint it, but it didn’t have enough storage space anyway. I found this one on Wayfair — it was not easy to find something affordable that fit with the decor of the room (contemporary and simple but not super modern). </p> <p>It felt good to wear my real clothes today. I got dressed and my husband gave me a “wow!” I felt like I’d maybe gained weight on our trip because we were not eating very carefully, but my clothes still seem to fit ok, and hubs reassured me that he sees no evidence that anything has changed. So that’s nice. This sweater was new last year and had no extra room in it, so I think I would notice if it were any tighter now. Yesterday was unpack and laundry day. Today I had some errands, so I decided to celebrate being able to wear my good stuff again. </p> <p>Moto jeans: Peruvian Connection<br /> Reptile print sweater: Merric<br /> Booties: Alexander Wang “Kori”<br /> Scarf: McQueen<br /> Hooded blazer: Blanc Noir<br /> Bag: Minkoff<br /> Strap: from Amazon</p> <p>I also spent some time this morning cleaning out my vanity - makeup and nail stuff thinned out and neatened up. I threw away maybe a third of my old nail polishes — some were separating and looking sad. A couple old eye pencils and powder blushes also got pitched. Most of the rest is still quite good. I stick with the same colors over the years for the most part, and I don’t use a lot, so my products tend to last. The things that get used up most quickly — tinted moisturizer and mascara — are replaced more frequently. My lipstick collection is very sparse at the moment, and going to stay that way. Not much need for many colors in the time of masks. </p> <p>It feels good to get that cleaned up and organized! Next I’ll tackle the season switch in my closet... </p>
