I started playing with the elements of the outfit I got used to. For example, when I started recovering from foot surgery, I could only wear shorts, I needed to keep fabric off my foot. I started wearing skirts and dresses, which also gave me the bare legs and the freedom to move that I needed. Then I moved to lightweight, wide leg trousers which again allowed me to move freely and keep fabric off my foot.

For work jeans, t-shirts and boots, perhaps start by swapping the t-shirts to woven or knit tops with the jeans? Then you can try swapping jeans for trousers and move on to footwear?

I can relate. The weeks on end of not walking, and barely dressing, with my ankle sprain stopped me in my fashion tracks. Maybe just get into that closet and get dressed as if you were going someplace fun, even if you're just staying home all day! I have been doing some 'playing dress up' here in the comfort of the A/C for fall looks because it was still in the high 80's. Gotta flex those style muscles and get them back into action!

Hello All,

I've been AWOL for a couple weeks due to working with the hubster (a good thing!). However, my style has taken a hit and all I've been wearing are work jeans, t-shirts and work boots...sigh. For someone who loves her wardrobe, my capsules have been neglected, my hair up in a bun and just looking something like the cat dragged in at the end of the day. The only clothes fun I've had is choosing a scarf to go with said work jeans and t-shirts.

So, I'm in a little bit of a funk as it were (not the blues because these weeks on the project sites have been good and we've got a rather large project starting next week that will take us through the end of the year).

I guess my question is, how do you get out of a clothes funk when you've gotten adjusted to just one outfit? I'm thinking of re-organizing my closet in hopes that doing that might inspire me and get me excited to pick up some new Fall items.

All the best, Stacy
