I used to dislike sandals, for the same reason, but a few years ago I got a pair of Mephistos that are shaped like my feet. I surprised myself by becoming a sandals person. It might have to do with living in a beach town that year! Now I wear casual sandals fairly often, but still no open-toed dressy shoes.</p> <p>I dislike nail polish (chemical sensitivities) so it took me a while to decide it was ok to wear sandals with bare toenails. My feet are not the prettiest, with damaged nails and calluses from dancing.
