Hi Kit --

Very similar shape to you and in addition to recs above just advise staying away from *looser* / flowy straight cut pants.

Personally I do like flares, bootcuts. and straight silhouettes as long as they're pretty fitted on the upper thigh so one sees the small curves that exist!

[And generally with muscular hamstrings and quads getting a fitted look is not a problem, ha. Stretch wool / pants with lycra are our friends for sure.]

Bootleg jeans, worn long with heeled (even an inch or two helps) pointy-toe shoes or boots can magically lengthen your legs. (See Angie's recent post about bootleg/flares paired with blazers for how to do the look.)

Yep, Liesbeth, Keira is short-legged, so her outfits are good inspiration. I think Angie has a post on how to dress long torso, short legs (and I agree Kit`s do not look short!), but knowing one`s proportions can go a long way toward feeling fab. If you Google long torso, short legs, you will get several “how to dress” hits, which have pant images. As per the Keira image above, I do find pleated pants the easiest to fit, since my widest spot is also below the traditional hip line, sort of in the saddle bag area (even thought I dont have saddle bags). Isn`t human variation a marvel?

I don’t see short and blocky, but I second a high waist (pleated trousers or straight or skinny jeans). I love the trending silhouette with cropped sweaters or tucked in shirts.

I would try high waists with skinny or narrow legs for starters. The visual length on the waist goes a long way toward lengthening legs (she says from experience).

Hi Kit,
I have legs very much like yours, though I tend more towards a pear, and face the same challenges. I haven't bought non jeans pants for years so I will be following!

Hi Everyone! I'm wondering what you ladies with low hips (non-shelf hips) wear for pants to flatter your legs.

I'm 5'5", with a hybrid IT/Hourglass body shape. I have muscular legs and low hips, which means it's very easy for my legs to look short and blocky. I also have a smaller frame (2-4 in tops, 00-0 in bottoms), so I prefer a streamlined look to a loose one.

(Photos: https://imgur.com/GgBOBpE and https://imgur.com/P7CfD0T)

I mostly stick to dresses, skirts, and skinny pants, but I'd like to expand my wardrobe with more pant styles.

What pants styles can I wear that won't make my legs look like tree stumps? Also, what brands do you love?
