Lyn I didn't realise. The tunic is lovely and soft but very thin. I have had my eye on it ever since it came out. I think I can make it work for me.

Great- the mana drape tunic is the one I returned- it does need the layering you do so well to look its best, so I look forward to seeing it on you soon :)
The skirt ticks all the boxes too!

Thanks Lyn.

I bought the Mana Drape S/S Tunic in black - it's really lovely and I can,not wait to wear it. And the California Wrap Skirt also in black - same fabrication as my long vest so these pieces could work very nicely together. Both pieces are transeasonal. I did try both in grey but the tones of the grey in the tunic wasn't flattering and the skirt just looked better in black

I actually think the shape of #2 is very 'you' Deborah.
#1 is a safe choice and #3 might 'swamp' your small frame.
What 2 pieces did you buy at Chadstone?

#1 is definitely my favourite. Nice colour that will play well with your existing items and an interesting shape.
#3 is interesting but I suspect where the 'waterfall' bit at the front meets in front of the models waist could really affect how it looks on with all that volume. On me I think it would look odd as it would probably be about a third to half way down my thighs. Might depend how tall you are?

Thank you so much. I find it really helps to ponder a while and take into account your thoughts. If #2 were avail in black there would be no question lol. There is no urgency so will pursue further. I am keen to see what jackets Metalicus bring out for winter.

Deborah - I think they are all interesting choices. I think you need to try #1 on, it all depends on how that front drapes on you. Could be great but now sure. I really like the shape and quilting of #2, of course my first thought was does it come in black!! That color looks pale blue on my monitor not mint - depends on the color but I really like the concept - in charcoal, pearl or black I'd be all over it. I like number 3 too, kind of a version of the HL longer villous sweatshirt jacket - but with draping it all depends on how it hits you. What do you like better? Honestly if not prohibitive I think a try on would solve the question in which case I would start with 1 since it sounds like you feel color and style would probably work the best. Fab choices though, really like them!!

I like them all a lot, but I think #1 will work most seamlessly into your wardrobe. Is that type of fabrication and style warm enough for your winter? I assume so, but a coat that doesn't close and is made of jersey would be a ridiculous item for me, so I thought I would check.

I really like the second one for a very different purpose. More for special occasion. I'm not sure whether you'd be comfortable with that colour, but it is intriguing and would add a lot of drama to your black. I also see your point about the retro elements of the pattern, but I suspect you could make that work, given that the colour is so fresh and the shape is modern.

I think #3 is a bit risky for the reasons you mention. i really like it but imagine it might take a tall person.

The first one has your name on it. I can easily see that fitting in to your wardrobe. The second one is interesting and may work, though the colour may be limiting. The combination of mint and black look really nice on the model, and while you have reservation, you'll never know for you without giving it a try. It may turn out to be the perfect wildcard.

I like 1 for the all the Deb-ness of its form factor and gray obviously plays well in your wardrobe. My only question about it is the material. It may lack some structure that could be a nice counter point to draped, fluid looks.

Number 2 may be worth a try. I can't tell on the screen if it is a blue-ish mint or a green-ish mint. I like the structure of it and the idea of a contrast with your wardrobe. The pattern is interesting and adds texture, but it may not be complimentary to your wardrobe aspirations.

Hmm. I may be no help because I think they are both worth a try. I agree that the third one, while very you, could be overwhelming.

Good luck!

I like 1 as a safer choice and 2 if you are feeling like a wildcard ... I like 4 a lot but as you wear lots of black, I think the contrast of the gray or mint would make for a little more interest, esp. if you will find yourself wearing it most days. Can't wait to hear what you choose!

The first one seems the most *you* but that mint color is a favorite of mine, and I think it could be a fun wild card juxtaposition with your black/white/grey neutrals. I wonder how well that quilted fabric drapes IRL. I'm not the biggest fan in the world of boucle (I'm not sure why, although the tendency to attract pet hair like crazy is probably part of it), so I'll reserve judgment on #3.

Hi Ladies,

I am sorry I haven't been around much. School holidays are busy as I try to keep Master 11 occupied. Been at the pool all day today..he is exhausted and sleeping like a baby!!

Despite bight high summer, my thoughts are turning to Winter and I would like to update my jackets and coats.

I would appreciate your thoughts. The forst two of from Asos.

#1. Grey jersey trench with raw edged hems. I really like the idea of this amd would like to bring some more grey into my outerwear.

#2 / #3. Quilted blanket (cocoon?) jacket in mint. I have bee looking at this for ages but I am almost sure this colour is no good for me. I feel the fabric gives it a bit if a retro vibe which I am not sure I can carry off.

#4 Boucle Zip Waterfall Cardigan from Country Road. Could be too bulky for my frame.

I know the best way is to try them out, but I do find your opinions often save me from the ordering, returning cycle

Thanks for taking a look and letting me know what you think.
