Love that dress for you! Have you tried sizing up on the style? I'd wear very light shape wear underneath for coverage.

That dress <3

And I sure hope lower rises are on the way back "in". I'm short through the torso, so i NEED lower rises, unless i want pants that function as a strapless jumpsuit.

I’m loving both of these for you, but especially the knit dress, those colours will be fantastic on you. I tend to buy knit dresses one size bigger than my usual size so that they are not too body con and no issues with my underwear showing through. I have a few knit dresses and love to wear them in winter.

I like both of your links. I'm with you on high rise pants - can't stand the pinch of anything on my waist. I have still been able to find mid-rise but in more basic styles.

The dress is really nice, love the two-tone. I don't wear anything body skimming so can't help you there. :)

It’s fun to think about fall - we’ve dropped from the 100s last week to low 90s. It’s coming!
The Soma invisible edge line hasn’t let me down yet under clingy knits, though admittedly I haven’t been wearing anything fitted like that for awhile. I don’t mind if a little bit of the back of my bra shows through on top as long as it isn’t too obnoxious.

Underneath skin hugging rib knit dresses I typically wear a full length commando slip that has some stretch. It’s just enough to smooth everything but not feel like a sausage casing, plus, you are slender and don’t need much. Mine look a bit like a slip dresse and they are not too tight because I size up. I don’t need them to help me look trim, they are there to help smooth my underwear. I have two lengths... :-). They also help prevent any snags from bra hooks which in my experience can sometimes work loose. They provide an added layer of warmth in winter time, and they also smooth the top elastic of tights, which I also wear for warmth. I buy whatever size dress that best fits the widest part of my body, which for me is my shoulders.

The best rib knit dresses have a jersey knit liner and thus do not require any smoothing garments. I have found jersey lined rib knits from Splendid, James Perse, Rag and Bone, Theory, Simon Miller and Paige. (I like rib knits!) Finally, the fiber content makes a huge difference. Merino wool blends if you can find and tolerate them, are more forgiving than synthetic blends.

The ribbed dress’s colours are especially you in my mind and one of my favourites for fall, but that is a good question about undergarments. A full slip perhaps?

That is a strange picture of the model in the pants, but I love wide pants for a cool breezy summer outfit since I never wear shorts.,
. You sound ready for a small hot autumn collection to wear until the weather gets cooler. Items for hot weather in autumn colors. On August 15th I pulled out the fall colors. Today I am wearing olive sleeveless top and shoes with darker blue denim wide legs rolled up a bit. For a jacket I used a black button down shirt worn open,
.My small bag is a print with olive, white and black. You can wear hot weather tops in fall colors or prints with your neutrals. I have been craving darks and often combine black and brown or navy this time of year.

Nice “finds”.

I have some knit skirts and a knit dress. I usually wear either control top tights underneath or a thin tube skirt (or both) to avoid VPL issues. Or look for one that’s already lined - but that can be hard to find. They are tricky.

I feel like I am seeing signs of lower waists on the horizon. Victoria Beckham often wears the kind of wide leg lower waist I am thinking of - at least in my impression.

I am looking forward to at least another month of warm weather.

But I’m mildly thinking about styles I might like for fall. I like the idea of drapy, maybe pleated trousers. But not with a high waist, because I know from experience those will always pinch and make me not want to wear said trousers. Low and mid rise are hard to find lately. https://www.freepeople.com/sho.....quantity=1

I’m also thinking about a ribbed knit dress. I like them a bit body-hugging, but in a substantial enough weight to obscure the existence of undergarments. I’ve sent back a few, and am wondering, what do other people wear under these dresses? Here’s a link, because finds hates me lately https://m.shopbop.com/shoko-sw.....gJBxfD_BwE
