The weather was disappointing the first two days though. In the 40’s it was much like what we had left the day before. It did shape up and was absolutely perfect the final two days.<br />We spent the first two nights in San Antonio, going on a tour of the Alamo and a boat ride on the lighted Riverwalk. Walked a ton but I never did get a handle on my bearings there, I was totally discombobulated.<br />The weather warmed up by the time we got to Austin. We stayed at the Austin Motel - very cute and very accommodating. I had reserved a queen room but somehow only managed to book it for one night. They ended up giving us a king for two nights at the queen rate.&nbsp;</p> <p> <div>The Whose Live Anyway show at Austin City Limits was a hoot. One of the best parts was when they brought up an audience member. I have no idea if they screen the audience somehow, but this gal was someone with colorful hair (unicorn, she said) you would see walking down the street in a t-shirt and jeans. Turns out she was a school teacher <b></b><i></i><i>and</i><i></i><b></b> opera singer and <i>very</i> funny, so she was incorporated into the skit. <b>And&nbsp;</b>they brought her and her husband up on stage as part of the encore!<br />Made it to the Continental Club, which was basically across the street from our motel.<br />Wandered around the Lady Bird Lake trails for much of Friday just taking in the beautiful weather.<br />The tour of the Capitol building was interesting, especially seeing the areas where it was expanded three floors underground.&nbsp;</p> <p> </div><div>1.
