Actually I was going to put up a pic of that skirt as part of a Keep or Toss, as soon as I've got time. I loved it back then, but suspect it might be too short now.

I haven't had any luck and have just about given up - the ones I can find are often not cut in a way that suits me.

Years ago I made my own denim skirt from a pair of jeans that fit nicely around the waist but were too wide in the leg. I wonder if that might be an option for you? Here's the instructions I used: Not Martha except I made mine above the knee, and used some of the offcut legs to fill in the gap, instead of a contrasting colour.

oh this is just too funny!!!

Would you believe I was in both JacquiE AND Witchery on the weekend and our stores didn't have any and told me they didn't have any this season!!! So not only do we get less stock than bigger stores, our staff have no idea what's on their websites!!!

And we don't have Jag, Countryroad, Esprit here...

Anne I forgot Rockmans on my list - they had one style in but it had really odd pockets that were stitched heavily on my thigh :(

Karen I did see that sportsgirl one, but on me, it was WAY too short and I definitely need knee length. (Which was a shame because it was in the sale section of my local SG!)

Op shopping last week found nothing either, but I have a huge bag of kids toys (YAY!!) to drop off tomorrow so I will see if they have any new stock.

Boy this is frustrating!

I'm going to have a look for a cheap one on ebay, but I'm reluctant to spend much for one online because they are a tricky thing for me to fit.

We do have a "western wear" store I forgot about, I'm sure they would stock an RM Williams or similar version... mind you I'm not sure I want to see the price tag of that LOL but I will check them out when next up in town too.

I think if I do happen to find one I like, that fits, and is in a reasonable price bracket I will buy several!!

Keep the suggestions coming if you think of any others though!!!!

I also had a maxi denim skirt which I had cut up to just below the knees. These days I am finding just above the knees suits me, but I am not that happy with the waist line. The one I ordered off ebay has a wide waistband with a belt attached. I think they are a real asset if you can find one that suits.

I got mine last year from Jacqui E. It is a really nice dark wash denim. I've just had a look on their website, and they do have one, but I'm not sure about the style, the price and the wash. I'm trying to think where else I saw them..... Hmmmmm...... JAG!!! and Witchery. Here you go. A bit pricey though, but they often have sales. Have a look...

http://www.jacquie.com.au/asp/.....ory=Skirts

http://shop.jag.com.au/Womens/.....ts/?cat=11

http://www.witchery.com.au/skirts/w1/i1001233/

Good luck - this isn't easy! (I'm starting to stress because my skirt is now starting to fade a little from so much wear and I fear I'm also going to need a new one. I know how hard it is..... <eeek!>)

Sportsgirl had this really cute denim skirt I spied on the weekend while I was in there - would have got it myself apart from the fact that I've already got 2. I think there were some the same style in Temt too.

Otherwise I would suggest op-shopping.

Hi Theresa,

Do you have Espirit? I noticed they have 2 different styles of denim skirts in our store at the moment. Otherwise, I have had luck with Country Road and Sussan for denim skirts in the past.

Good luck!

I dont live in Australia but I know all those shops. I have just got myself one on ebay really cheap because I dont want a mini mini and like you couldn't see anything in the shop. I am expecting it early this week. It was cheap enough to be worth the risk of it not fitting.

I have a vague memory that Tam and Stringy were discussing the lack of denim skirts in Aus, and I was wondering if you have found any yet?

A denim skirt is the only bottom left on my list of things I would like to acquire at some point before summer is over, so with the idea of finding one and layby-ing it to pay off with my christmas money, I went hunting today!

But they seem to be incredibly rare!

I found 3 in my entire town that fit the bill - plain, dark wash, straight denim skirts...

Katies - some *ultimate* skirt designed to lift the bottom, hide muffin top and be comfy... size 8 too small, but size 10 too big and both seemed to hang funnily.

Sussans - in between sizes again - and their cut was extremely straight - pretty much an exact rectangle - so it didn't allow for any curves at all.

Target - could wear the 10 sizewise, but it also hung funnily and had stud details right on the hipline that were a little too "look at my hips" for me!

(Just Jeans had one that fit and I liked, but it wasn't dark wash - it was very much a casual skirt, but I wanted something a little more versatile than just casual...)

I didn't get to Rivers, or the one local boutique that may have some... but think I covered everywhere else in town LOL.

Has anyone seen any others? I can't believe this seemingly simple design would be so difficult to find!

Thanks for any suggestions!!
