If seller is uncooperative make a claim. Ebay will investigate and no doubt will find in your favour. The money will automatically be returned to your account.

Ugggghhhh...so disappointing and frustrating Denise. I would definitely contact the seller and request a reimbursement, but also follow Mochi's advice and contact eBay and your CC company. Good luck!

The rivets may be genuine have you heard of cabbage?
'Cabbage is the stuff that falls off the back of a lorry, or indeed out of the factory gate, and ends up on a market stall. It comes from the leftover product that the factory hasn't used in the making of the bag/dress/shirt. It disappears out the back of the factory and ends up in a Florence or Milan market. The Gucci handbags in Florence market look just like the real ones simply because they are the real ones. We are a small company and can't really afford cabbage.' Fashion Babylon

Thistle -- interesting news. 7% of the economy, wow! I do know that fakes harmed our DVD business when I was at Disney, especially overseas. But what has been the biggest challenge to that business and reason for 1/2 of all jobs lost in that industry, is "watch it free on YouTube."

Sounds like they have you sorted, but this is one of the reasons I have yet to take the plunge and buy off eBay. I just can't tell what is faked and what isn't! Seems like so much is counterfeit these days. Hundreds of billions of dollars according to CNBC. http://www.cnbc.com/id/3782434.....feit_Goods

Even if they are genuine it sounds like they are damaged, and hence "significantly not as described", so you should be able to open a case with eBay if the seller refuses to refund you. You will be out the cost of returning the item but you should get the rest of your money back. I would give the seller the chance to refund you first, but if they don't offer to refund everything including the overcharged postage then I would open the case.

I bought a pair of boots a while ago that were described as "worn once" and showed no damage in the photos, but when I got them they were really trashed -- the upper material was cracked and peeling, and there were spots of purple nail polish on the toes. I asked the seller for a refund and they said they would give me back the purchase price but not the postage they charged, so I opened a SNAD case with eBay and got the whole amount refunded.

Contact the seller, ebay and your credit card company simultaneously. Paying in this way makes the situation going forward different from mine, possibly, but in the end you have a right to be reimbursed, I would think. Sounds like you were misled. I hope you get it straightened out easily (this is where CC company will work on your behalf...I am betting the seller and ebay will not)

What Jen said is correct. Fake or not they have flaws that were not mentioned. If that isn't enough though it is illegal to sell fakes. Try asking for a refund first. If it is denied then make a claim.

Sevens were commonly faked a while ago... now it is more True Religion, but I'm sure there are still fake 7s out there. The seller may not have even been aware. I think you have grounds to ask for a return based on the tear. Ebay would probably side with you even if she wanted to fight it.

I should have known, they were too cheap, even for used jeans. Plus the seller charged me $11.25 for shipping but shipped the item for $6.95, which is kind of dishonest.

I contacted her and asked if there were any flaws. This was before bidding. She said no. However there is a tear of about 3 inches on the inside of the front zipper. Plus there are clumps of threads inside one of the pockets, and unintentional fraying around a belt loop. The belt loops in general look off. I pulled out all my other 7 for All Mankinds and did a careful comparison. All the rivets and zippers have the right logos and the tags look OK but there is just something about the feel of the fabric, the stitching, the construction etc. that isn't right. My mother who sews said the workmanship around the zipper is poor. The condition of the fabric is still new and unwashed, so the flaws do not indicate normal wear to me, they indicate poor construction. Oh yes and there is also a stain on the garment although that may wash out.

Any advice? I really don't know for certain if these are fakes but my spidey sense tells me they could be. I checked the web for "how to detect fakes" articles and the belt loops in particular are a red flag.
