I like no 1 a lot, but I think a slightly longer more fitted jacket would improve things. I will keep your inner secret No 2 is fantastic and my how I love your boots.

You look terrific! Sometimes we have to take a risk and try something new. I agree that slimmer cropped flares would suit better, but the outfit loose relaxed and fun. $2 is amazing -- one of your best!

#1 is great, but I agree with the others, the jeans are too baggy. #2 looks perfect.

ETA: I meant the jacket was right WITH the jeans... i.e., I feel the jeans and whole outfit is good... In case that wasn't coming thru.

The jeans are meant to be baggy I think because they fit the waist, but I get that they seem too big now that we're going back to straights and slims. They are a nice lightweight and cool so I'll keep them for summer I think (unless I lose that weight I'd like to)
I finally realized why these jeans were difficult to cuff - I think they were supposed to be cropped flares (who knew?)

I quite like the loose fit of the jeans. How do they look cuffed? And you look great in orange and green.

You look good. I know the jeans are baggy a bit in #1, but I think the visual weight of the jacket is right.

#1 is a good attempt, but Jeanne! Those jeans are falling off you! Streamlined on the hips and thighs is the way to go with cropped flares and straights.

#2 is Killer.

SO NICE to see you post again.

I like the #2 look a lot -- the jeans look like a better fit, and the color mix is excellent.

No, I actually like the baggy crops on you...you wear them well, IMO.
I just wonder if you need to counter it with a tighter fitting top...or some sort of waist-defining top. Ah, yes, a 3/4 length jacket would be perfect.
I like #2 as well.

I love #2! I definitely have an easier time with cuffed narrow jeans than cropped flares -- I suspect our eyes might need to adjust?

However, I wonder if a more streamlined jacket in #1 might make the cropped jeans work better. The length looks great!

Yes, I agree, the jeans are too baggy in the thighs in the first picture. Otherwise, the length and outfit really works to my eye. Super cute. I think I may like it better than the second picture, where the rolled, light hem of dark jeans seems more jarring, paired with the blazer.

You're tall, if I remember correctly. Keep experimenting because I think you will be able to carry off the cropped hem look very nicely, even the flared hems.

I tried the Trend this time.

For the 1st one I was in a rush and put this on and had to go out. I felt a little silly because I'm sure folks thought I was a crazy lady who didn't have pants that fit, but it was my inner secret that I was trying to be fashion forward. These are the most cropped flares I have - Cookie Johnsons. I usually wear these rolled in summer. They are a bit baggy so maybe that was what was off? I went with low contrast taupe high shaft booties, but when I walked there was visible leg. Luckily it was 50 degrees here so cold was not an issue.

1. Gap turtleneck, Cookie Johnson jeans, Crown Vintage boots, pearl dangle necklace, Burberry jacket.

2. More of straight crops with big cuff. Felt a bit less conspicuous. Jeans: Paige (one size up), Top boden, topper BR hacking jacket, turquoise chunky necklace (an ode to pearls), Doc Martens boots

I'm not giving up, I have a few more jeans to try so stay tuned.
