Well, sadly, it looks like we won't make the AU game, as it overlaps the work reason for the trip. Based on last year, it seems like the atmosphere in that stadium is incredible, but I'm okay missing it. We go to a lot of soccer games. :)

Atlanta native and the temp could be anything in March. I remember Snow Jam 1993 was in mid-March after weeks of 80 temps. Unbelievable. Check TWC right before you leave, that's the best advice I can give ya.

The City Winery in Ponce City Market is a great place to see shows but don't eat there. The food is awful and overpriced.

AU games are a blast and I don't even care about soccer. Definitely try to do that. And the concessions at the games are reasonably priced.

I second checking out Virginia Highlands. I may be partial because I grew up there. :)

I’m in Atlanta and if February is any indication anywhere from 59 to 81+ in temps. Past two weeks lots of 70s and some 80s.
Brunch at Canoe is stellar.
At The Flying Biscuit, the shrimp & grits rock.
La Tavola in Virginia Highlands or Babbettes Cafe are both fantastic.

My husband spends half his life in Atlanta. Okay, I exaggerate, but he does take 6-10 business trips there each year, and I've never been. We're finally going to right that wrong in a few weeks, and I'll be heading out with him for a few days of touristing and eating, before flying back home and leaving him to the grind.

We'll be staying in Midtown (no car, but we're willing to Uber/Lyft as necessary), going to museums, eating lots (probably at least a few meals with techie types from the large media company K is working with there), and might try to catch an Atlanta United game over the weekend. Any guidelines as to what to pack and what I can expect for weather in the second week of March? I suspect Atlanta is slightly dressier on average than Denver, but I could be wrong.

Also, restaurant recommendations always welcome. Here's the list the husband sent me to start:
JCT
Cooks & Soldiers
Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro
The Flying Biscuit Cafe
Cypress Street Pint & Plate
Ponce City Market
5Church Atlanta
Delia’s Chick Sausage Stand
The Silver Skillet
South City Kitchen Midtown
