I have fit issues with Athleta -- the waist band is always too big relative to the hips and legs. Also, I find their seams to be really scratchy. I've not tried Zella.

My favorite leggings are the Prana Ashley, which comes in cropped and full-length. They are Supplex nylon, not polyester -- I thoroughly dislike poly leggings for a host of reasons, so I only do nylon now. Technically these are yoga tights, but I hike in them all the time in addition to yoga. I've never tried running in them, though. They're a good rise on me, and the waist doesn't fall down.

I've also had Under Armours that I liked in the past, particularly the Cold Gear line for winter use. They have so many different styles and fits it's hard for me to figure out which ones will work for me.

Another brand to look at is Oiselle. They make women-specific running gear -- everything I've tried from them fits really, really well. I don't have any tights/leggings from them yet though. Just shorts and a jacket.

I've always liked the Moving Comfort brand, but switched over to New Balance recently. I also like Spalding, though I use their yoga pants more than their leggings. Bonus there is that they are inexpensive!

Thanks LizA. I don't know what change Capezio made exactly. I just know the new ones don't feel all that great against my skin. I would almost haphazard to guess the old ones had some cotton in them. Just enough to be really comfortable and still wear well. I'll check out the link you provided. Maybe I'll get lucky twice this month.

Janet -- the fit issue has to do with how the leggings frown/smile on me. I have never figured out why some brands do that on me. I suspect it had something to do with the rise -- either too high or too low.

The Capezios did not have any type of pocket for a key (I safety-pin a key into the waistband). The Nike has a tiny slit that you could place a key in, but I would never trust it without some sort of closure.

What is your fit issue with Zella and Athleta? Zella workout capri tights are too short on me -- they end up at my knees rather than below.

I have some ancient (5-6 years old) Lululemon capris that still get regular wear -- I even got a hole in the knee of one pair thanks to a mid-run fall, but I still wear them. But Lulu's quality has gone down since then, IMHO. Too bad because I love the way those capris fit, and the back zip pocket is really handy for a car or hotel key.

My second favorite are Under Armour -- they're a little bit heavier/thicker, but I don't feel overheated in them. They're long enough and the waistband comes up high but not TOO high.

I can't tell what makes the difference in fabrication to you, but I'm not a fan of Zella. I like Lucy studio hatha leggings.

I feel as you do about leggings and find that, in general, I favor woven fabrications over knits. I have a pair of Nike athletic pants that I wear as leggings that are comfortable and look pretty good under dresses. The Nike logo is difficult to find on them, very small and discreet.

I have major fit issue with leggings. I absolutely will not wear leggings that "frown" or "smile." Add to that the fact that I overheat easily and I need leggings that breath.

Over the years I found what works for me and what doesn't work for me. Zella and Athleta absolutely do not work for me, but Capezio works great. They come in black and they fit me better than any other legging on the market that I've tried. They even breath.

Well, at some point in time, Capezio changed their fabrication. The new fabric does not breath. I despaired. On a whim, during NAS, I tried Nike capri leggings (I rarely need or use full length leggings). The Nike do not breath as well as the older Capezios, but they fit me. I decided this was a win.

I am not going to buy any more Capezios. I don't want to deal with the feel of the new icky fabric against my skin. I decided to buy several of the Nike Legendary Dri-Fit Capri Leggings. They fit a bit different then the Capezios. Tighter, but that doesn't seem to bother me. They don't frown and the fabric is superior to that of the new Capezios. I wash them after every wearing and they wash well too.

After being so happy with the new Nike Capris I hoped that other items in their brand would be just as great. I have not found that to be exactly the case. But I am very interested in this brand now. I am going to experiment with Nike as my new go-to for athletic wear.
