I took a petite and fortunately, the rise seems proportionally shorter as well as the leg length, so it was a win. Agree that it helps A LOT that the waistband has some "give" to it. From some of the stock photos it looked like they might be too extreme in my size compared to more twiggy models. I may try them on for sizing ( local store has only 1 color I think). The fabric content is a nice option compared to all their synthetics, and also looks like not- bulky pockets. But I don’t do well in pants that have a snug hip fit and then ballon out. This is why wide crops generally don’t work, due to waist- hip ratio fit. </p> <p>I actually do better in a high- waist slouchy pant that tapers slightly at ankle but want something not always a jogger. Recently got such a pant from Everlane, the chino in buttersoft. I think the fabric and quality of these are just great. &nbsp;I was really torn between sizes but ultimately sized up for breeziness and because I just thought they looked better that way. I also opted for the regular length vs tall. I had a return to make at Athleta yesterday and saw these so I tried them on. They are indeed quite a high waist so not my ideal, but the waist is stretchy so potentially workable even for someone short in the rise like me, as long as you can tolerate the style coming far up on the torso. On me, that meant literally just a couple of inches from my bra band, LOL. I could only wear untucked tops — preferably cropped and loose — with pants this high. </p> <p>But they are flattering, the barrel shape is gentle and not extreme, so easy to wear, and the fabric is a good weight and thickness — if you are in the market for updated white pants, these are great. </p> <p>I would be tempted if they had the olive in store but for now I passed. The black looked great but I already have black pants in this kind of shape. Navy is back ordered until August. </p> <p>Don’t sleep on these!</p> <p>PS. I did leave the store with a purchase — this cropped shirt is a great style and one of my best colors! I took a small — it’s meant to be roomy and boxy, but<br /> the medium was just a little too oversized. </p>
