Zapotee, I am going to try the Gap pants that everybody seems to love. I think they have Tall sizes in some pants, but if I remember right, you were looking for dress pants? I hope the Express pants work out for you.

Angie, I shop at AT because they carry petites. BR pants are too high rise for me.

Sparky, Sorry those didn't work out. I have a wool pair from them that has lasted fine except I am not a fan of dry-cleaning. I have another pair of ponte pants that I need to test run.

I don't have any recommendation for you, but you just made me feel better. I thought I had finally found a nice, flattering pair of black dress pants after two years of looking on and off ~ I bought AT's signature gabardine pants (I think it was those; wool with a lining). I put them on two nights ago thinking of wearing them to a concert with a friend, and showed them to hubby and kids. DH said they looked just OK, and were like a waiter's uniform, while DD piped up, "Your jeans look better on you, Mommy." DH elaborated a bit later, saying that they were not particularly flattering and that my old black pants (now dated, not to mention worn out) were much nicer on me. So I returned the AT pants the next day (hadn't taken tags off). Short story long, I'm feeling better about returning them, as I'm guessing they would have started to bag out on me too, from what you're describing.

Anyway, commiserating with you on the search for decent pants that fit well and stay fitting well.

Bummer Elpgal. No problem, I tried to find them but they don't carry tall sizes in store. I am looking forward to see what the ladies recommend.

I believe I might have some success with a pair of Express Editor I just bought in black. The fabric seems to have a different feel. I am trying them home before I take the tags off. I'll let you know how that goes.

All the AT pants I have bought in the past month have been bagging out like crazy. I buy the 'Modern' fit that have the lower raise and they have worked well for me so far. Is it just me?

Can anyone recommend pants that are low-rise? I am short-waisted so most low-rise pants end up being perfect for me.

Zapotee, I think I mentioned these pants on a thread you posted recently? I humbly retract my recommendation.
