I don't know how your winters are, but I have avoided leather coats in winter because I wasn't sure how the leather handles snow or rain. Do you just have to check the forecast in the morning? It's probably no different than wearing one as an outdoor coat in the spring/fall, but a winter coat that can't get a little bit wet doesn't make much sense for halifax. I love it on you !  The collar is super flattering , and the colours are nice on you.  I agree that open, it's a different story though, and that would be important to me, but it may just be the camera angle.
