The assymetrical neckline looks wonderful on you. For some reason they are horrible on me and that makes me sad. Wear your dress any way that makes you happy. We are only comparing photos and don't see the total look. It's a great dress.

Thank you, Joy! I think I'll leave this dress for blazers and underlayers that leave the dress neckline as is. It was fun to do the test rounds, anyway.

I like #1 and the blazers best and the styling in #3 next. 2 is better than the white blouse but maybe a simple crew neck?

Awe thank you so much.

I used to sit in the sidelines of my own life. Afraid to stand out in clothing work life in general. I admired the boldness and goodness in other women. Them not being afraid. Taking ownership of their wadrobes lives and work. I said that is how i want to live my life.

It has to be intentional. And before you know it. It just is. When you take ownership of who you are. Let me telly you sister you can walk in your own confidence.

I work with artist, tech heads, community organizers. So many different groups but i always try to remain true to myself.

Don't worry about the fashion journey you are really a sharp sister. With much swag.

Thank you, lyn67 and Ledonna! Do you think #1 is too revealing for a conference presentation?

I realize that I forgot to mention that I'm preplanning for a 3 day trip where the first two days are casual with friends and last day is a presentation. I'm an invited speaker, but no need to dress up much (noone would bother if l wore a casual jeans/sweater or tee outfit). In my head the dress was fine, but maybe not in reality.

1 is a good look to my eye.

The blouse in 2 is still competing with the neck line.

3 is very sophisticated

I like nr 1 best (& maybe 3-4). Think no classic/kent/notched collars or middle front buttons will do the trick for that dress but maybe try a cowl/soft turtle neck blouse to it or something which doesn't show up at all in the front opening so only sleeves of a kind to be seen-like a silk shrug/kimono underneath or so?

I tried a few more options. What do you think of the asymetrical neckline and the toppers and blouses?
My post of the white blouse option and the dress: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-necklines

I forgot to test a basic underlayer with a no-show the neckline because I'm quite sure that combo works.

Sorry for bad pic quality. I hope you get a reasonable idea of how it works anyway.

I appreciate your honesty.

#1: white blazer, black blazer, sans blazer
I think the blazer options kind of work for date night or out with friends, but not for a presentation (academia, humanities). Sans blazer is a no brainer, but not for presentation in the winter (way too cold and very seasonally confused).

#2: floral blouse
Quite hectic (or maximal?), but I actually like this combo better than the white blouse in my previous post. I'm thinking smart casual, MOTG, casual friday. Or not?

#3-4 black, sheer blouse with tie
I adjusted the blouse so only the tie shows and I fastened it with a brouche, following the neckline of the dress. I like this as a dressier option, but not for smart casual or work presentation.
