I've ordered from ASOS a few times and found them to be smaller than Gap. I think I'd go for a size M.

Another vote for 'All over the map', but as they are UK-based, I'd say your H&M size is a good place to start, particularly with their house brand. Everything I ordered from them (trousers) ran small and narrow through the hips. I can't speak to tops.

Thanks for you input, everyone! I think I might just try both sizes!

Maybe it's because I'm a little on the shorter side with small shoulders or maybe it's that weight watchers is working better than I realize, but I think ASOS runs generous! I definitely find that most dresses are too long for me, and when I ordered from the curve line, the sleeves were huge. I don't think they run as large as old navy, but I've never ordered anything that I thought ran small.

I find they run quite small especially around the hips. May not be such an issue for a top but I always order a size up unless it is a loose flowy style. I am a us size 4 to 6 and generally order a uk 12 or medium in asos even though in other brands I am a uk (or australian) size 10 or small.

I have ordered from Asos before and find that they run quite small. I think that your H&M size would be a place to start.

Ah, I didn't realize they were from the UK. I probably will bite the bullet and order both sizes, and then just have to deal with returning one.

It's kind of random - they carry different brands. The house brand seems to run TTS. I am usually a 6 or S/M depending on whether it's a top or bottom.

I've only bought from their Curve (plus) line so it might be slightly different but compared to most of the US brands I buy they run a tad small. So I'd agree that their size and your H&M size are likely comparable. Make sure you're not looking at the UK size which is two numbers higher than the US size.

Suggestion: order both and return the one that doesn't work. Their free shipping only kicks in over thirty bucks, or something, and can be quite slow because everything comes on slow boat from the UK and then takes a while before it's transferred to the usps.

Karie, I can't say for sure, but if you take a small in J Crew, you probably take a small in ASOS. My DD does, and she buys from ASOS frequently.

I really like the Asos cropped sweater from Angie's Friday ensemble post, but I'm totally unfamiliar with that retailer. Does anyone know how their sizing runs? In places like J.Crew, Macy's, and Gap, I usually wear a small size top, and in places like F21 and H&M I usually wear a medium. It looks like Asos has free shipping both ways, so I could buy both sizes but I'd like to avoid the hassle of a return.

Does anyone else have the frustration of always being between two sizes? I'm forever ordering doubles, and carrying an armload of sizes into dressing rooms.
