Considering that my 45th High School reunion took place last summer, I’m very familiar with the “no pants for the girls” rule that all schools had in place decades ago. That was rather brutal for us, wasn’t it? In fact, in college, if you wanted to wear your gym shorts to play tennis, you had to throw a coat on to cross campus…lol. But that was then, and your reunion is now, so by all means, wear those pants! Since you have an hour glass figure, it would be nice if you topped your floral blouse with a shaped jacket, to really impress those six classmates.<br /> My Mom’s 70th reunion will take place next month, and I’ve already planned a very pretty ensemble for her that includes pants, a fitted jacket and a lovely blouse. Let me set the stage: only 7 in my class, extremely conservative school, very little contact since we graduated. The event is a luncheon on the campus of the school.</p> <p>Modesty was a hallmark of our dress code and I would like to wear something that will fit in but not betray my personal style. I am leaning toward a 3/4 sleeve summer blouse with a small colorful pattern and white slacks. I know this probably sounds underdressed for a reunion, but I can envision some people showing up in shorts or levis--yes, even for an indoor luncheon. I thought about a summer dress but honestly, I think I might feel more comfortable in pants--though we were NOT permitted to wear them at school.</p> <p>Any thoughts, oh ye wise YLF members? </p>
