Can she wear a headband? - I am thinking of a discreet thin elastic kind. Wouldn't keep things in a bun, per se, but out of her face anyway.

Is it a little bit short to ~ all ~ fit into the pony? Is that why the strands fall out.?

We do the gel, we do the hair spray- then it just pulls out in thick crunchy strands rather than soft flyaways.

Khris,
When my daughter was a cheerleader in high school she had to wear a pony...her best trick was to put some gel on her damp hands and apply to her dry hair as she was pulling into the pony...in other words she just smoothed it over the outer layer on her dry hair as she pulled it into the hair tie.

Her hair lasted all day and well into the night without the hair slipping...sooth and sleek:)

Isn't there a spray that suppose to make your hair a bit gritty like you've been to the beach? I think that will make her hair less slippery.

I need to find a product for dd's hair. She started back to dance this week, and keeping her hair up for three straight hours of dancing is going to be a challenge, to say the least. She has fine, flyaway hair that is extremely slippery. We had her hair back in a ponytail, and then into a bun with one of those mechanisms that looks like a slap bracelet covered in velour fabric to make buns easier, with flyaways in clip. After only one class, she looked like she had been hanging upside down from a tree with monkeys pulling at her hair! Can you suggest a product that will help keep things in place? Even with a million bobbypins (which we forgot to put in this week), everything seems to slip out of her hair.
