These are great ideas. The search feature should be much better than it is today.

There is one thing in the current system that might help a little with the second part. Currently you can search by type by going to a part of the site before using the search box. In other words, if you search in the forum it only returns forum results, and if you search in the blog it only returns blog posts. Searching while on the home page returns results from all parts of the site.

Thanks for the feedback. It is always much appreciated.

Greg, I'm wondering if you could add some search-results lists tweaks to your list of changes to consider.
* It would be so helpful to have the dates listed on a search-results list, or to be able to sort the results by date. There was a time I was trying to find something Angie had in a Nordstrom's round-up post. I knew it had been in the past few months. I managed to get a search result of those posts (and other random results), but then I had to open each search result individually to find when it had been posted. (Two or three year old posts were scattered among more recent posts.)
* I'd like to be able to refine search results by type (Angie's blog post, forum thread, etc.). I'm currently trying to find an Angie blog post and am getting massive lists of results pulling from everything on the site. It would be great to be able to filter them down by date/type, etc. Or to sort them by title and date.
Thanks for being so gracious and open with our feedback!
